Rural Free Delivery on WVUD Since 1989, "Rural Free Delivery" has broadcast bluegrass, old time and classic country music on WVUD-FM, the Voice of the University of Delaware.

"Rural Free Delivery" debuted on December 9, 1989 on WXDR-FM, the non-commercial station of the University of Delaware in Newark (now WVUD-FM 91.3, the Voice of the University of Delaware). It has been co-hosted from the beginning by John Lupton and George Mercer, and is heard Saturday afternoons from Noon to 2:00 pm (Eastern US time) and features bluegrass, old time and classic country music from the 1920s to the present day. The station can also be heard at wvud.org

John Lupton, WVUD Hall of Fame member, will present his annual Hank Williams tribute radio show on New Year's Day on WVUD HD1, 91.3fm and streaming on WVUD.org. This year's show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature recorded music and recorded concerts and shows as well as Hank songs covered by other artists in the nearly 70 years since Hank's death on New Year's Day 1953. Rural Free Delivery on WVUD HD1, 91.3fm, and streaming on WVUD.org, (most Saturdays, noon-2 p.m. (eastern time) -- The best old time, bluegrass and country music. John Lupton has been doing all the work since March 2020 and once again he has prepared the show and uploaded it in his undisclosed secret studio and broadcasting tower.
