HOW TO WALK A HUMAN

A Dog's Guide

Humans need exercise. If they don't get it they become "chubby". It's up to you to save them.

1. Allow your human to tether themselves to you. This keeps them from wondering off or running away.

2. Your human probably needs breaks. Be considerate and stop and sniff often.

3. Bark frequently. Humans have a short attention span.

4. When you go to the bathroom, walk away. If you have trained your human correctly, they will pick it up. Good aerobics.

5. Periodically drag your human as fast as you can. This is called interval training.

6. Do not allow your human to shorten the walk. They are being lazy. Sit in protest if you must.

7. Once you are home, allow your human to remove their tether, then lick their face many times. This is positive reinforcement for a job well done.

If you have ever considered getting an e-collar for training your dog, ideally I would hope you would contact a professional to help you purchase a reliable e-collar but also to teach you how to use it.
This book will inform someone new to collars and help more experienced trainers too! I took Eric's seminar a year ago and learned so much from it! Eric Stanbro

For all my puppy owners: please take head!

It’s that time again, second fear period has officially hit 🫠 during this time I’m extra careful about what we do and don’t do! Not putting him into positions where it could be detrimental.

During the 6-12 month mark is a very common time for a lot of dog owners to desex dogs and take their dogs to off lead dog parks!
This is why so many dogs become fearful into their later years and a lot can remain that way! Hormones are a very important part of development, and placing your dog into sh*tty situations while there are hormone fluctuations is extremely unfair to your dog!

It’s important to remember fear periods are normal! Some dogs are worse than others during this time! It’s all about how you as the owner handle your dog and navigate them through this tough time.

So I guess I'm going to go with a theme today. Here is another dog crate that was listed on marketplace locally here. And again I had to laugh at the image. In my opinion, while this dog seems to not mind at all being in the crate, I think it is entirely too small to leave a dog in this size crate for A long period of time like a work day. If you're traveling and you want to keep the dog contained in a safe spot in the car, this would be okay. If it's a long drive, frequent stops to stretch legs would be necessary. I think most professionals would agree that the dog should be able to comfortably stand, turn around and lay down stretched out for a correct fit in a crate.

This dog crate was listed on the selling wall just like this. I laughed out loud but also my heart breaks💔 a little for the dog that was so stressed out being in here. Now, I do advocate for use of dog crates because often times they are a happy safe place for the dog( with time limits) and give the owner peace of mind. What do you think was the problem here? Too small? Too much time in the crate?
