On July 1, 2024, New York time, the launch ceremony of the "Dialogue Among Civilizations" United Nations special exhibition, hosted by CMG, was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The highlight of the launch ceremony was the CCTV x Andy Yu "Harmonic Heritage" fashion show, which used fashion as a medium to fully embody the event's theme. This fashion show, themed "Harmonic Heritage," was designed by renowned fashion artist and designer Andy Yu.

Andy Yu, who focuses on "sustainable fashion" as his core design principle, is not only a talented designer but also the co-chair of the Fashion in Conscious for Future (FICFF) Foundation, which aims to promote sustainable fashion development globally.

In the vast history of world civilizations, Andy Yu drew inspiration from the Neolithic Liangzhu culture of Chinese civilization, as well as from the ancient cradles of civilizations such as ancient India, Egypt, and Mesopotamia. The twenty-one pieces presented in this fashion show were inspired by these four ancient civilizations, serving as a tribute to both ancient and modern cultures. Each piece integrates artistic creation with sustainable concepts, reflecting a deep respect for ancient wisdom and a serious commitment to building a green future. The "Harmonic Heritage" collection transcends the boundaries of time and space, finding unity and connections between the past and present, and among different regions.

On July 1st, New York time, the launch ceremony of the "Dialogue of Civilizations" United Nations special exhibition, hosted by CMG, was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Permanent representatives and diplomats from countries including China, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Bolivia, Jamaica, and Peru, as well as friends from various sectors, participated in the event.

The event featured a special exhibition on civilization dialogue, a cross-civilization dialogue concert, a unique fashion show showcasing the blending of world civilizations, and an international art exhibition. It aimed to explore new paths for civilization dialogue and build bridges for cultural exchange, mutual learning, and heart-to-heart communication.

At the event, guests enjoyed a performance by Wynton Marsalis, Jazz Artistic Director at Lincoln Center in New York City, and his band. They also witnessed the CCTV x Andy Yu Harmonic Heritage fashion show, which beautifully demonstrated the exchange and integration of Eastern and Western cultures. Additionally, the event showcased replicas of Liangzhu relics and works by renowned artists such as David Fraser, Jane Dickson, and Zhou Yong.

We held the Journey to Civilization Yanghe（洋河股份） Dream Blue Pop-Up Show at the historic Bethesda Terrace and Fountain in Central Park. The event featured a live performance of the traditional Chinese folk music piece "Jasmine Flower." Dancers, dressed in royal blue attire, gracefully danced with folding fans against the backdrop of the fountain. Many passersby captured this delightful moment of cultural exchange on their phones.

What was once a vital part of a person’s lived experience is now a motionless ‘artwork’ that can no longer be worn or heard, touched, or smelled. The exhibition endeavors to animate these artworks by re-awakening their sensory capacities through a range of technologies, affording visitors sensorial ‘access’ to rare historical garments and rarefied contemporary fashions. By appealing to the widest possible range of human senses, the show aims to reconnect with the works on display as they were originally intended—with vibrancy, with dynamism, and ultimately with life.”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art unveiled The Costume Institute’s spring 2024 exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. On view from May 10 through September 2, 2024, the exhibition features 220 garments and accessories that are connected visually through nature, which also serves as a metaphor for the transience of fashion. The show will bring to life the sensory capacities of these masterworks through a wide range of encounters: visitors are invited to smell the aromatic histories of hats bearing floral motifs; to touch the walls of galleries that are embossed with the embroidery of select garments; and to experience—via the illusion technique known as Pepper’s ghost—how the “hobble skirt” restricted women’s stride in the early 20th century. Punctuating the galleries are a series of “sleeping beauties”—garments that can no longer be dressed on mannequins due to their extreme fragility.

A five-day event to showcase white porcelain produced in Dehua County in China's southeastern Fujian province kicked off on Thursday in the Times Square Bertelsmann Building, with 105 masterpieces of Dehua porcelain exhibited.
Dehua white porcelain, known for its creamy whiteness, subtle jade-like radiance, paper-thin delicacy, and clear, chime stone-like sound, was regarded as a prominent export product during the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, Dehua white porcelain used to be dubbed "Blanc de Chine" by the French and gained worldwide fame.
