Inspired by the traditional Chinese shadow puppetry art, this display features a dynamic, vibrant dragon gracefully weaving through window panels that symbolize the four seasons. The design comes alive with an interplay of colorful patterns, creating an enchanting celebration of Chinese cultural heritage.
To honor the Year of the Dragon, the Empire State Building was illuminated in a brilliant "China Red," marking the occasion with a grand lighting ceremony. Esteemed guests, including Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping and his wife, alongside Anthony Edward Malkin, CEO of Empire State Realty Trust Inc., were in attendance to celebrate this cultural milestone.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Year of the Snake Special Exhibition will open on January 28, 2025, and run through February 26, 2025. Visitors are warmly invited to explore this extraordinary tribute to the Year of the Snake, blending cultural heritage with creative artistry in the heart of New York City.

The 2025 Prelude to the Spring Festival Gala in New York was a spectacular celebration of cultural heritage and sustainability, uniting nearly 200 distinguished guests, including renowned model and author Maye Musk, inspirational deaf singer Mandy Harvey, and NBA star Joe Johnson, who made his runway debut.
The event featured a captivating blend of tradition and modern artistry through performances that mesmerized the audience. The Young People’s Chorus of New York City delivered heartfelt renditions of The Song of Calling and A Rainbow Tomorrow, while the Exile Dance Team showcased a fusion of Traditional Ballet, Hiplet, and Ribbon Dance, seamlessly blending classical elegance with contemporary energy. The Huangye Jazz Band added festive cheer with Golden Snake Dance and Happy New Year, and Mandy Harvey, alongside hearing-impaired students, presented an emotional and inclusive performance of Try and Masterpiece through music and sign language.
A highlight of the evening was the Cultural Threads Collection F/W25, a CCTV x FICFF runway show that combined traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary fashion. The collection drew inspiration from the Year of the Snake, symbolizing transformation and renewal; the globally renowned game Black Myth: Wukong, reinterpreting ancient mythology; and the iconic dance performance The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting, which pays tribute to traditional Chinese art. Special thanks were given to FICFF members—CHANTEX, Shawn Baron Pinckney, Caroline Brown, Victoria Manion, and Benjamin Acklin—who brought this unique collection to life by merging cultural heritage with sustainable innovation.
Adding excitement to the event, NBA legend Joe Johnson made his runway debut, marking an exciting crossover between sports and fashion while reinforcing the theme of cultural exchange and collaboration.
