Homeroom Dreams takes you inside Riverdale Avenue Middle School in Brownsville, where nearly 1 in 5 students experience housing instability. Last winter, BRIC and fellow community media outlets headed to Albany to advocate for the Community Media Reinvestment Act, a vital step in securing funding for BRIC’s media services amid declining cable revenue.

In a poignant op-ed for Brooklyn Magazine, BRIC President Wes Jackson emphasized the role community media has in safeguarding democracy by amplifying the voices of those often marginalized and underrepresented.
