One of my NYFW discoveries: Story Wear from Taiwan. They work with discarded textiles and surplus materials, turning them into clothes that feel considered rather than “recycled.”
I especially loved how much Taiwanese culture and storytelling was woven into the presentation. Sustainability is much more interesting when the clothes make you want to wear them first.

Fast-fashion platforms profit while vendors like 💗ZERELLE COLLECTİON💗 directly copy independent designers like .saftoiu AMI AMALIA . Instead of vetting marketplace sellers or protecting registered IP, platforms give free passes to cheap knockoffs generated by AI and plastic mass production.

Taiwanese zero-waste label Story Wear is bringing that exact debate to NYC for their NYFW debut, Love REVOLUTION. Beyond upcycled denim and their new proprietary REDEEM recycled cotton fabric, they’re tackling the hardest part of the equation: behavioral change and true circularity.

This week’s roundup is basically fashion getting caught being fashion. 👀
Shein disclosing an FTC investigation the same week it preps its Hong Kong IPO. Zara, H&M, Lululemon and Levi’s suddenly “discovering” resale right after eBay and Depop made bank off it for a decade. Oh, and someone did the math on what fashion’s billionaires are actually worth vs. what garment workers make — it’s bad.
One real win in there too: the EU’s ban on destroying unsold clothes is now actual law, not just a headline.

An incredibly alarming investigation is underway in France. 🚨
As reported on msn.com, authorities are looking into several suspicious ads under suspicion of child trafficking. The posts list ordinary plush toys for thousands of euros using highly deceptive descriptions that specify children’s ages and clothing sizes.

This is deeply concerning.

Shein just bought Everlane. 🤯

The king of ultra-fast fashion acquiring the self-proclaimed gold standard of “radical transparency” isn’t just irony—it’s a confession. It proves what skeptics have argued for years: in fashion, “sustainability” was never a value. It was a marketing asset, sold to the highest bidder.

The rest of the industry is no less contradictory:
* Reformation can’t reconcile its climate pledges with private-equity growth targets.
* Nike’s recycled jerseys prove circular fashion hits a ceiling when you’re still spinning oil into plastic.
* The Reality: Textiles are now the EU’s 4th largest source of microplastics. A single gram of synthetic fabric sheds 3.7 million toxic fibers.
But the consumer rebellion is real. People are sewing again. Audiences are swapping TikTok’s algorithm for long-form content. Startups are reinventing raw materials from the molecular level up.
