The women of ¡好 / Peligro! (or Aloha also means goodbye) spent 4 weeks investigating their maternal past, bringing to the page and stage their HERstory. This is their Mother Line Story Project.

----
¡好 / Peligro! (or Aloha also means goodbye)
Formed in a small room in the bowels of the Kennedy Theatre on the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus in 2018, ¡好 / Peligro! (or Aloha also means goodbye) is a multicultural crew of misfits / contemporary theatre company that hurls haymaker sized shots (missing often) at the system and people trying to keep them in a small room in the bowels of the American theatre. Or... they’re just a bunch of people making new stuff that finally includes them and theirs.
(You can say it either way, but they mean it both ways.)

Happy July Mother Liners!

This is a quote from an interview with Yale history professor Elizabeth Hinton. Her book, "From the War on Poverty to the War on Crime" details the systemic racism in federal law that created the and the mass incarceration of Black Americans. Her work as a researcher and teacher has inspired her to bring her skills directly to the community to educate local law enforcement and work with non profits.

Here at we are constantly investigating the past and how that inheritance impacts the present. Elizabeth Hinton's work is a reminder to continue that process and to allow our inheritance to inspire action for the future.
