Tonight, I had the privilege of experiencing January, presented by and it was truly a beautiful and deeply moving experience.

In the aftermath of an unimaginable tragedy—a child shooting another child at school—January takes us into the lives of two mothers: Lauren, the victim’s grieving mother, embraced by society as a symbol of sorrow, and Maya, the killer’s mother, vilified as society’s scapegoat. As Lauren’s grief spirals into obsession, the play asks difficult, soul-searching questions about blame, loss, and the human need for understanding.

By the end of the show, I was in tears. The emotional depth, the raw truth, and the journey hit so powerfully. January is not just a play; it’s a poignant exploration of our shared humanity
