PLEASE LET’S PRAY FOR THIS INNOCENT BABY 🙏🏻😢🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I am at a loss for words. I woke up this morning fully expecting that today would be another busy, but completely normal day. 6 month old baby Charlotte had an appointment with an ophthalmologist this morning to determine what the cause of her crossed eyes is, an appointment that we scheduled two months ago. I got to the appointment with all three of my daughters in tow. After the doctor analyzed her eyes she sent us up to Primary Children’s hospital in Salt Lake City to get an ultrasound on her eyes because she saw some irregularities that she wanted to have checked out. I drove the half hour to get there, and Stuart left work early to meet me at the hospital and walked in right as the ultrasound was underway. I held baby Charlotte to me while turned away from the screen to allow the doctor to get the image. Stuart looked at the screen and said “whoa, that’s big”. And my heart dropped. They discovered a cancerous tumor behind her left eye and partially into her right eye called Retinoblastoma that is causing her not to be able to straighten her eyes out. I didn’t know what to think. A million questions and emotions poured through me as I tried to get a mental handle on the situation. I’m still trying. I’m still in shock. I still don’t know what to do or what to think. They discussed a need for an MRI to confirm the diagnosis and determine the full scope of the cancer and if it has spread to other parts of her little body. They discussed treatment options which include chemotherapy and surgery.
They explained to us that the team of experts for this particular condition is located in Phoenix and we will need to get there as quickly as possible to begin treatment. I still don’t feel like I have a grasp on the situation, and I don’t know what the short term and long term looks like for Charlotte, Stuart, my family or for myself. But I do know that the most important favor that I can ask from any of you is to send a sincere prayer to our Father in Heaven.

Hahahahaha

"My fiancé doesn't appreciate my DOG at all and that's why I'm making this appeal.
He is purebred, he has shared my life for 2 years. He loves toys even if he doesn't have all the parenting skills. Short hair but in need of grooming. Especially the upper body parts, he likes to shave them off. He often barks at night and has a habit of waking me up very early the next morning. He is a very picky eater, preferring only branded, expensive food.
Unfortunately, he doesn't make you happy when you get home. He's not very cuddly when you're a bit down. He doesn't usually bite, but he is usually short-tempered and growls easily.
Here it is... If you know someone who wants to care about my selfish, twisted and inhuman fiancé of 40 years, come and take him with you!!! My dog and I want to find a new home for him!!!"

WOWOWOW!! DID YOU KNOW?

When the Titanic sank, it carried millionaire John Jacob Astor IV. The money in his bank account was enough to build 30 Titanics. However, faced with mortal danger, he chose what he deemed morally right and gave up his spot in a lifeboat to save two frightened children.

Millionaire Isidor Straus, co-owner of the largest American chain of department stores, "Macy's," who was also on the Titanic, said:

"I will never enter a lifeboat before other men."

His wife, Ida Straus, also refused to board the lifeboat, giving her spot to her newly appointed maid, Ellen Bird. She decided to spend her last moments of life with her husband.

These wealthy individuals preferred to part with their wealth, and even their lives, rather than compromise their moral principles. Their choice in favor of moral values highlighted the brilliance of human civilization and human nature.

"While packing up my grammy's house to move her into an assisted living facility next month, we found her wedding dress in her attic! 63 years later she tried it on, and it still fits! This is a photograph of her holding her original wedding photo from 1953. My mom (their daughter) is capturing this moment, and you can see her face reflecting off the glass. My grandma Ruth stayed married to my grandpa Jack his entire life until he died in 2000. She misses him every day. They had a love that spanned the ages.
People should know this kind of love is real and is worth waiting for."

THE BEST LAUGH

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout counter.
The pharmacist at the counter asked the older boy, 'Son, how old are you?'
'Eight', the boy replied.
The man continued, 'Do you know what these are used for?'
The boy replied, 'Not exactly, but they aren't for me. They're for him. He's my brother. He's four."
"Oh, really?" the pharmacist replied with a grin.
"Yes." the boy said. "We saw on TV that if you use these, you would be able to swim, play tennis and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do none of those."

You start dying slowly ;
if you do not travel,
if you do not read,
If you do not listen to the sounds of life,
If you do not appreciate yourself.
You start dying slowly :
When you kill your self-esteem,
When you do not let others help you.
You start dying slowly ;
If you become a slave of your habits,
Walking everyday on the same paths…
If you do not change your routine,
If you do not wear different colours
Or you do not speak to those you don’t know.
You start dying slowly :
If you avoid to feel passion
And their turbulent emotions;
Those which make your eyes glisten
And your heart beat fast.
You start dying slowly :
If you do not risk what is safe for the uncertain
If you do not go after a dream
If you do not allow yourself
At least once in your lifetime
To run away from sensible advice
Don't let yourself die slowly
Do not forget to be happy!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT + 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I contemplated whether or not this was worth posting, and at the end of the day, I am where I am because of something another Dad posted sometime last year. If I can help save one child, this is worth it.

Elianna was playing in the pool with a “pool noodle” on Saturday, and as children do, she was blowing in one end and blowing water out the other. By freak accident, Elianna put her mouth to blow out at the same time someone blew in the other end, causing the water to shoot directly down her throat. She threw up immediately but didn’t have any notable things happen. 30 minutes after the “accident” she was fine – normal, playing, eating, etc. The next day she was fine. Monday she developed a fever. Kids get fevers. Tuesday she slept most of the day but overall looked fine. Sent her to school Wednesday. Got a call that her fever was back.
I kept replaying that pool scene in my head and remembered reading a story about a Dad in Texas whose son passed away because he went untreated after inhaling pool water.
We went from school to urgent care. We were there 10 minutes when the doctor said to get her to the nearest ER ASAP. Her heart rate was high, her oxygen was low and her skin was turning purple, suggesting chemical infection.
Went to the nearest ER. They did a chest X-ray and showed inflammation and infection caused from pool chemicals.
Two hours later they transferred her by ambulance to a larger hospital so they could monitor her around the clock. She began treatment in the ambulance on the way over.

Elianna has aspiration pneumonia and is now on oxygen and relying on it to breathe. They’ve tried to remove the tubes but her levels drop quickly. She’s had her second dose of antibiotic but we haven’t seen much relief. Her fevers have continued. Her heart rate has lowered so that is the only good news. Doctors told us “thank God you got her here when you did.” All the major things going wrong are things you would NEVER notice by looking at her.

If your child inhales a bunch of water, and something seems off AT ALL, immediately get help. It’s so scary.
For now, we just pray that the antibiotic takes quickly and her lungs can find a way to get rid of the pool chemicals. They will keep us until she’s fever free for 24 hours, her chest X-ray comes back clear, and she can sleep fully through the night without her oxygen levels dropping. If she requires more than 3 liters of oxygen we will be transferred to Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. We don’t know how long the road will be but I thank my lucky stars that I read that article of the little boy. I will find that article and write that Dad a letter, I promise you. I would never have taken her to urgent care without that and God only knows how this would have ended.

"See this moment? I've never experienced a moment like this. Yesterday was the first day my 5 year old Autistic son met his new Autism Service Dog, Tornado. We are Americans that live overseas in Japan and have prepared for nearly two years to meet Tornado.
This picture captures the face of a mother who saw her child, who she can't hug, wash, dress, snuggle and touch freely lay on his new Service dog of his own free will, with a purposeful, unspoken attachment. This is the face of a mom who has seen her son experience countless failed social interactions on the playground in an attempt to have a friend. Any friend. Any kind of connection. She has sat with her son while he has cried at night for months because he has no consistent connections outside of the family no matter how hard he tries and no matter what he works hard on in his Autism therapies. It doesn't transfer to the natural occurring world for him. And now she is sitting behind her son silently watching this moment, with the air sucked from her lungs, and no words to say.
It's worth every fight for services for my son, every diagnosis, every new provider, every dollar spent, every paper filled out, every school meeting, every shed tear, every step forward, every step back, and every wonder of the unknown future. Somehow because of this - because of Tornado - I know everything will be okay. As a mother, I have seen countless challenging and painful moments my son has encountered and cried countless more. Yesterday however, I cried for a different reason. It is a feeling that is indescribable."

This is Togo. He's the lesser-known sled dog who helped save an entire Alaskan town in 1925. Alaska was swept with a deadly sickness called diphtheria. It badly threatened over 10,000 people in Nome. They urgently needed medicine, called antitoxin, to save them. The mission was to deliver the cure through the Coldest and most dangerous paths about a distance of 1120 miles (1800 kilometers) within five days. However, the dog that did the most difficult part of the work was Togo who crossed the longest distance of 260 miles (418 kilometers). This is the story of a real-life superhero dog:

RULES TO TEACH YOUR DAUGHTER
1. Make your bed every day, even if it’s right before you get in it.
2. Don’t wear holey underwear…in case you’re in an accident and they cut your clothes off.
3. Travel light through life. Keep only what you need.
4. It’s okay to cry when you’re hurt. It’s also okay to smash (some) things; but, wash your face, clean your mess, and get up off the floor when you’re done. You don’t belong down there.
5. If you’re going to curse, be clever. If you’re going to curse in public, know your audience.
6. Seek out the people and places that resonate with your soul.
7. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
8. 5-second rule. It’s just dirt. There are worse things in a fast food cheeseburger.
9. Happiness is not a permanent state. Wholeness is. Don’t confuse these.
10. If you’re staying more than one night, unpack your bag.
11. Never walk through an alley alone.
12. Be less sugar, more spice, and only as nice as you’re able to without compromising yourself.
13. Can’t is a cop-out.
14. Hold your heroes to a high standard. Be your own hero.
15. If you can’t smile with your eyes, don’t smile. Insincerity is nothing to aspire to.
16. Never lie to yourself.
17. Your body, your rules.
18. If you have an opinion, you better know why.
19. Practice your passions.
20. Ask for what you want. The worst thing they can say is no.
21. Wish on stars and dandelions, then get to work to make them happen.
22. Stay as sweet as you are.
23. Fall in love often. Particularly with ideas, art, music, literature, food and far-off places.
24. Fall hard and forever in love with nothing but yourself.
25. Say Please, Thank You, and Pardon Me, whenever the situation warrants it.
26. Reserve “I’m sorry” for when you truly are.
27. Naps are for grown-ups, too.
28. Question everything, except your own intuition.
29. You have enough. You are enough.
30. You are amazing! Don’t let anyone ever make you feel you are not. If someone does….walk away. You deserve better.
31. No matter where you are, you can always come home.
32. Be happy and remember your roots, family is EVERYTHING.
33. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
34. No one will ever love you more than I do.
35. Be kind; treat others how you would like them to treat you.
36. If in doubt, remember whose daughter you are and straighten your crown

A man slaughtered a big cow, lit the grill and said to his daughter.
“Daughter, call our relatives, friends, and neighbours to eat with us... let us feast!"
His daughter took to the street and started shouting.
“Please help us put out a fire at my Dad's house!".
After a few moments, a small group of people came out and the rest acted like they didn't hear the cry for help.
Those who came ate and drank until late.
The stunned father turned to his daughter and said to her.
“The people who came I barely know them, some I had never seen them before, so where are our relatives, friends, and neighbours ?".
The daughter said.
“Those who came out of their homes came to help us put out a fire in our house and not for the party.
These are the ones who deserve our generosity and hospitality".
Conclusion:
Those who don’t help you during your struggle, shouldn’t eat with you at your victory party!!

What does it feel like to be old?
The other day, a young person asked me: - What did it feel like to be old?
I was very surprised by the question, since I did not consider myself old. When he saw my reaction, he was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question. And after reflection, I concluded that getting old is a gift.
Sometimes I am surprised at the person who lives in my mirror. But I don't worry about those things for long. I wouldn't trade everything I have for a few less gray hairs and a flat stomach. I don't scold myself for not making the bed, or for eating a few extra "little things." I am within my rights to be a little messy, to be extravagant, and to spend hours staring at my flowers.
I have seen some dear friends leave this world, before they had enjoyed the freedom that comes with growing old.
-Who cares if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 in the morning and then sleep until who knows what time?
I will dance with me to the rhythm of the 50's and 60's. And if later I want to cry for some lost love...I will!
I'll walk down the beach in a swimsuit that stretches over my plump body and dive into the waves letting myself go, despite the pitying looks of the bikini-wearers. They'll get old too, if they're lucky...
It is true that through the years my heart has ached for the loss of a loved one, for the pain of a child, or for seeing a pet die. But it is suffering that gives us strength and makes us grow. An unbroken heart is sterile and will never know the happiness of being imperfect.
I am proud to have lived long enough for my hair to turn gray and to retain the smile of my youth, before the deep furrows appeared on my face.
Now, to answer the question honestly, I can say: -I like being old, because old age makes me wiser, freer!-.
I know I'm not going to live forever, but while I'm here, I'm going to live by my own laws, those of my heart.
I'm not going to regret what wasn't, nor worry about what will be.
The time that remains, I will simply love life as I did until today, the rest I leave to God.

03/22/2024

She got married at the age of 14, and at the age of 20, she became a single mother. The first female millionaire who made a fortune with her 10 fingers.
She entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first woman to become a millionaire independently, without inherited money.
Sara Breedlove was born in 1867 in the south of the USA, in the state of Louisiana. Her parents, older brothers, and sister were slaves in the cotton fields. But Sara was born free. When she was 7 years old, she lost her parents. After her parents died, she moved in with her sister and her husband.
As a child, Sara worked as a housekeeper and did not have time for schooling. She later shared that she only had 3 months of formal education when she attended Sunday school.
She was only 14 when she married Moses McWilliams. She didn't do it because she loved him. The truth was that her sister's husband was a very violent man, and marriage was the only way for Sara to escape from that family. Four years later, Sarah and Moses had a daughter, Alleluia. Two years later, Sarah's husband dies. So Sara became a single mother and a widow at the age of twenty.
In 1888, Sara moved to St. Louis. Her brothers worked there as barbers. She started working in a laundromat and as a cook to pay for her daughter's education in a public school. Sara earned about $1.50 a day.
Like all the workers in the laundry, Sara got sick from chemicals: skin disease, lack of water, and heating in the house made Sara almost lose her hair. Thanks to her brothers, she learned the basics of hair care. A little later, Sara learns about the Eni Malon series of hair products and later meets Eni in person. He starts selling her products on the street.
Still working for Malon, Sara, now at the age of 37, moves to Denver with her daughter and begins to think about her own line of cosmetics for African-American women. After many experiments, she succeeds. He starts building his own business.
In 1906, Sara married Charles J. Walker and later became famous under his surname. Charles becomes her business partner: He does advertising and helps his wife with promotion.
Sara went door to door trying to sell her products, but also to teach women how to care for and style their hair.
In the same year, Sara decided to expand her business, so she and her husband traveled around South and East America. Her daughter had grown up and graduated from school, so she helped her mother with all the shipments from Denver.
Two years later, Sara moved to Pittsburgh. The family opens a beauty salon, but also a school that trains people to know everything about hair care so that they can apply Sara's products.
In 1910, Sara moved to Indianapolis, where she opened the headquarters of the company Madam C. J. Walker.
He builds a factory with a laboratory, a hair salon, and a beauty school where he teaches his sales agents. By 1917, Mrs. Walker employed about 20,000 women. Her agents earned from 5 to 15 dollars a day. Sara wanted African-American women to be financially independent, so she encouraged women to open their own businesses and taught them how to handle money.
The richer she became, the more time she spent on charities and giving. She gave lectures, fought against social injustice, and donated money to funds. Before she died, she donated more than 100,000 dollars to the poor and various organizations and social institutions.
In her will, she stated that 2/3 of her future profits should be given to charity.
She died at the age of 51. She was considered the richest African-American woman. When she died, her fortune was thought to be between $500,000 and $1 million. During her lifetime, Sara was not a millionaire, only 2 years after her death, her wealth increased, but while she was alive, she hoped that she would be. And not because she needed the money, but because she wanted to do more good deeds.

Every morning in Frankfurt, Germany, you might catch a glimpse of Jenny, a horse who goes on a long walk every morning, all by herself. She has been taking the same route every morning for 14 years, ever since her owner, now 79 years old, became unable to ride. She enjoys greeting all of the familiar faces along the way, and she stops and gets treats and pettings from some of her favorite humans. The locals treat her like a celebrity and happily clean up after her. A piece of paper is attached to her halter that reads, “My name is Jenny. I didn’t run away, I’m just walking. Thank you.” But the police get calls frequently from people who don’t know about the arrangement. They are very familiar with the horse and the owner, and there have been no incidents in 14 years. A local veterinarian gives her routine checkups and continues to find her to be healthy and showing no anxiety about her unique lifestyle.

03/21/2024

Just imagine the ability to render solid stone transparent. Giovanni Strazza possessed this incredibly rare artistic talent. His masterpiece, "The Veiled Virgin," carved from flawless Carrara marble, stands as one of the most astounding achievements in the history of sculpture.
Strazza's mastery of the "wet drapery" technique carried on the tradition of other Italian sculptors like Giuseppe Sanmartino, who, a century earlier, had crafted mesmerizing marble veils, exemplified by the renowned "Veiled Christ."
This artistic tradition can be traced back to earlier sculptors, including renowned Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo, as well as the ancient masters from Greece's Hellenistic era, who were celebrated for their intricate depictions of fabric folds.
However, in the mid-19th century, Strazza pushed this technique to its limits. The delicate, layered effect he achieved allows the observer to distinctly perceive Mary's facial features through the translucent veil while simultaneously creating the illusion of weightlessness.
The process of how he transformed solid stone into something so soft and fluid, using only basic hand tools, remains a profound mystery.
