We are thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with The Center for Latter-Day Saint Arts! The center has curated a vibrant exhibit at the Mesa Arts Center: “Materializing Mormonism: Trajectories in Contemporary Latter-day Saint Art.” The exhibit is a must-see, showcasing the ever-evolving state of modern art from members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The exhibit is open through the end of Summer at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, but luckily there is a virtual tour available for those not in the area. Click the link below and immerse yourself in this extraordinary exhibit.

The Center for Latter-day Saint Arts presents an exhibition of works from thirty-five contemporary artists exploring the very materials of LDs faith and culture. Open May 10-August 4th, 2024 at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Arizona.

There is no better way to celebrate the start of summer and the warm weather than a corn hole tournament on the office balcony. The Salt Lake-based team enjoyed a lovely afternoon competing, eating lunch and getting to know each other better all while tossing a few bean bags. We can’t wait to get more use out of our outdoor office space this summer.

We are pleased to celebrate the completion of the recent high school graduate internship program. This program provides an educational and informative experience, offering hands-on opportunities to contribute to our projects. We enjoyed having Erol, Gibson and Rory work with us in our New York office and wish them the best in their continuing education and careers.

Last week, UCLA School of Law Assistant Professor of Law Xiyin Tang appeared on ABC Audio “Tech Trends” to discuss the recent lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft by eight newspapers, including the NY Post and Chicago Tribune, claiming copyright infringement around the use of articles to train ChatGPT and Copilot.

Xiyin emphasized the stakes for the future of the local news industry.

“What the plaintiffs are really concerned about are the arguments that the AIs are being trained to replace them,” she said.

Did you know that 65 percent of all businesses fail? Surprisingly, this includes 90% of disruptive startups and 90% of unicorns. We spent some time at the Silicon Slopes Marketing Summit learning some of the latest strategies, techniques and technologies that can be leveraged to help our clients win.

It was great to see old friends and industry veterans while attending breakouts within the B2C and B2B tracks. We particularly enjoyed attending Amy Osmond Cook's session on integrating sales with marketing and learning from the collaborative prowess of James Atkin and Lisa Mathis on Omnichannel branding.

We had a wonderful time going behind-the-scenes with Rachel Willis-Sørensen as she interviewed with CBS New York, WNYC's All of It, Utah Public Radio, Deseret News and Parterre Box yesterday discussing her Carnegie Hall debut! It is exciting to partner with an organization like Center for Latter-day Saint Arts that is bringing electric and inspiring performers to the city. With the 2024 election cycle in full swing and cybersecurity at the top of mind for millions of Americans, we are honored to work side by side with Defending Digital Campaigns.

DDC works with political campaigns to protect them from cyber actors who want to cause harm to the bedrock of our democracy: elections. With stories of cyberattacks popping up daily, DDC is working with leading tech companies like Google to protect everyone involved in a campaign – from the candidate down to each volunteer.

At the Mid-Atlantic MarCom Summit in November, Thatcher+Co. Senior Vice President Eva Nordstrom and DDC President and CEO Michael Kaiser spoke on a panel about how non-profits like DDC can break out of the echo chamber to create communications that matter.

Nordstrom, a former executive producer at CBS News and CNN, pointed out that people are more likely to connect with information that is presented as a story and is told with authenticity. Kaiser said sometimes organizations fail to connect the message to the audience. You can hear more from Kaiser in the video below:

Restaurant week in NYC might have ended, but we want to give one last shoutout to a restaurant in our neighborhood, Hawker! Urban Hawker is an authentic Singapore street food center with a total of 17 vendors total, representing essential cuisines like Malay, Peranakan, Chinese, Indian, Southeast Asian, Asian-style Western favorites, and many more! It made for an unforgettable experience when we visited during our staff conference in January! Looking forward to our next visit.

The Thatcher+Co. team kicked off the New Year by gathering our teams from across the country in our New York office. This was a fantastic opportunity for our East Coast and West Coast teams to connect and meet face-to-face, collaborate on projects, and build stronger relationships.

We had a packed schedule of meetings, workshops and professional development training. There was also no shortage of fun - from seeing Back to the Future on Broadway to having a delicious New York food tour, we made the most of our time together in the heart of our favorite city!

We are major foodies here at Thatcher+Co., and this week, in honor of NYC Restaurant Week, we will be highlighting some of our favorite places to grab lunch, breakfast and sometimes even brunch! Today's highlight is Mermaid Oyster Bar in Times Square (lucky for us, it’s only a block from our office). Established in New York’s East Village in 2003, Mermaid Oyster Bar started as a casual New England fish shack and has since transformed into an American seafood brasserie. It’s designed to evoke the feeling of a mini vacation in a quaint seaside village, and we think it’s a must-visit. Our favorites are the lobster rolls, fish tacos and of course the raw oysters! If you’re in the city during Restaurant Week, do yourself a favor and check them out. We promise you won't be disappointed!
