I came to Valerie after going to acting classes for a few months. My teacher told me I needed to get rid of more of my accent if I wanted to work as an actress in the United States. I am from France and tried so many times to get help reducing my accent, but was so misguided by other teachers. When I started working with Valerie she picked up on all the specific sounds I needed to work on. She walked me through them one by one. She helped me to understand the physical placement of each sound to say each one properly. She is very professional and knowledgeable and was always available if I had questions. The process is not always easy but she makes it better to understand. My American accent is more clear in my everyday life and classes and I handle my auditions and scripts much easier than before. Giver her a try! I’m very happy with my results!

I came to Valerie Kingston with a pretty good standard American accent already under my belt, but I knew there were a couple of minor sounds that were giving me away. I wasn’t sure how to fix them. Valerie analyzed my accent and told me that I had 4 sounds that were the culprits. Over 3 sessions she hammered them out of my system, taught me how to deal with them and sent me a plethora of useful information and recordings. These were the most practical and useful accent sessions I have ever taken. I would highly recommend Valerie to anyone needing guidance or fine tuning of their American accent. She’s wonderful. What a great time I had with the students from Australia! They are actors getting ready to audition in front of agents in New York City, and in Los Angeles. I helped them with their Australian accents (to help them sound more American ) as well as coaching them on their scenes!
