Good morning everyone,

Not much to post for the upcoming storm. Not our storm. DC to AC storm.

Some in central NJ may see 1 to 3 inches, but I really don't foresee much for LI.

I will keep you updated if things change. Which I don't expect.

Who Loves Snow? All of the main players are lining up on the field.

We have not seen a set up like this in several years.

Yes, today is 65 degrees, but... that usually is a precursor to snowy and cold weather.

As you will see from the images below, all teleconnections are lining up.

So you ask, "WTF are teleconnections"?

Well, Thanks for asking. Weather teleconnections are significant links between weather patterns that occur in different parts of the world, often thousands of miles apart. They are caused by changes in how air moves around the atmosphere, and can last from weeks to months.

I am specifically watching the time frame between the 5th to the 12th of January.

Way too early to predict possible amounts. I do expect some snow if the cold and moisture meet up. But the signals are there.

Get ready.

More warmth and rain coming up than snow and cold. But still a couple chances possible.

Not looking like a super active pattern after the next few days. Transient cold air is likely. Brief warm periods and brief cold periods are around, but much of the time is closer to average East. It will be a little mild, but the warmest in the West.

Maybe a colder pattern change just after Christmas.

We've been talking for awhile about a flip to more wintry weather late November or early December. Here we go!

There's finally snow to track!

11/07/2024

Big storm happening for Colorado and New Mexico. But where is early winter weather elswhere? When will there be changes to more cold?

The East gets wetter, but any shots of snow?

It's the start of the weekly SnowPlowNews.com videos again through winter. Thanks for watching! We appreciate you.

Milton makes landfall late tonight. Massive flooding from the ocean and rain imminent.

Gusts 110-120 possible for those in the area that sees direct impact. Hurricane force winds also possible in other parts of the state.

Let's break it all down for you, here! The main Milton discussion starts at 1:10.

While we wait for Milton's arrival, please enjoy this sneak peek into winter.

A full Milton update tomorrow. This storm is extremely dangerous. One of the strongest i have tracked.

EVERYONE should evacuate up and down the immediate coastline from tampa and those to the south.

Hurricane Milton Update: 4pm Monday 10/7

For friends and family that live along the west coast of Florida, this is the time to get going. Similar to Helene, this will cause massive damage to the area. Areas of most concern:

Cedar Key down to Sarasota. As of this moment, it is impossible to know the exact location of the landfall, but based upon the latest models, it appears to be around the Hudson Beach area—NORTH of Tampa.

Why is a landfall being north of Tampa so important? Storm Surge. Over 15 feet of water being pushed on shore from the gulf, and then from Tampa Bay itself. A very dangerous situation.

Can this change? Yes. But everyone in this area must take action as indicated by the local municipalities. Follow their orders.

You do not see this type of language from the National Weather Service. They never hype as they are a government run agency.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Devastating to Catastrophic

Widespread deep inundation, with storm surge flooding greatly accentuated by powerful battering waves. Structural damage to buildings, with many washing away. Damage greatly compounded from considerable floating debris. Locations may be uninhabitable for an extended period.

Near-shore escape routes and secondary roads washed out or severely flooded. Flood control systems and barriers may become stressed.

If you have anyone down there that needs direction or forecast assistance, please let us know. We want everyone to be safe!

An early winter forecast is starting to become clearer. While not cold and snowy in the East some areas should fare better than last year.

A weak La Nina could bring potent cold in December, but where could it have staying power for much of the winter?

Very dangerous and unfortunately catastrophic situation about to unfold in the Florida Panhandle.

If you have friends or family down there, evacuation will save their life.

As you know, I never hype a storm. This one means business all the way up into northern Georgia.

Key points
Wind gusts over 110mph at the coast where landfall occurs.

Torrential rain for the entire area. 6 to 15 inches of rain causing inland flooding, especially near rivers, sreams and lakes.

Tornadoes on the east side of the storm

Most destructive will be the storm surge of over 20 feet. Complete inundation near the coast.

Keeping everyone there in my thoughts.
