This is the pinnacle of what passionate soul music was about. This is the ORIGINAL IYKYK ——-cause only certain folk was up on the magic of Frankie Beverly’s music and yet EVERY show was sold out and some of the best feel good vibes black music has every produced in the 70s. This is for me the aroma of my Uncle Junie’s car with the tree air fresheners w plush seats and a grip of 8track tapes in the glove compartment felt like on a Sunday after church headed to somewhere fancy like Red Lobster or Houlihan’s or Sizzler. This is why EVERY dj rocks “Before I Let Go” & “Joy & Pain” at every function (someone told me “Before I Let Go” was black people’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”——once played EVERYONE acts accordingly. This gentleman was the soundtrack to the perfect family bbq/reunion inside our heads & hearts. We will miss you and we thank you for what you left us Brother Frankie. This is pre Maze Frankie Beverly & Raw Soul from 1975 right before Marvin Gaye hooked him up w Capitol Records singing “I Need You” Powerful.

Grammy Nominated Producer/DJ Muzikman Edition (MME) hails from East New York, Brooklyn and started experimenting with turntablism in 1986. His love of the art led to the introduction of DJ 3D to the NYC music scene bringing a unique style combining house, hip-hop, rare groove and R&B classics. DJ 3D earned a resident DJ post on WBAI’s Underground Railroad, where he’s been cutting and scratching for over a decade. Through DJ 3D’s love of house music and collaboration with Kenny Dope, Muzikman Edition was born.

Through his mixes, MME morphs classic arrangements into modern day house hits bridging the gap between generations. MME spends countless hours discovering new artists, producing releases for his label Exemplary Music Makerz (EMM), and creating podcasts to share with his fans, but the best reward is spinning at parties and seeing people celebrating their love of music.
