BEACH LOGS KILL, directed by Haley Z. Boston, is a surreal journey through a teen girl’s intense and heightened reality, where her crush on her school’s celebrated quarterback (also a girl) spirals into a hallucinogenic exploration of q***r desire.
The film asks the classic question that many young q***r individuals face: do I want to be them, or be with them? This question, and the film itself, resists clear-cut answers, embracing the complexities and ambiguities of identity, life, and attraction.

Today is the last day of New York Film Week 2022
It's your last chance to watch the US Premiere of 'The Death of My Mother', German director Jessica Krummacher's second feature film, which had its World Premiere in the Encounters competition of the Berlin Film Festival.

'The Death of My Mother' tells the story of the final path trodden together by a daughter and her seriously ill mother in a compassionate and gentle way. It is a slow farewell, in which the two become infinitely close, both physically and spiritually, until something separates them: the longed-for death.
-
Krummacher wrote the script based on her own experiences, and young German actress Birte Schnöink (Amour Fou, The Components of Love) stars in the lead role of the daughter, while Dutch actress Elsie de Brauw (Quicksand) plays her mother.
-
The Death of My Mother is Krummacher’s second appearance at an A-list festival, after her film-school graduation project Totem, which world-premiered in the Venice International Film Festival's International Film Critics' Week in 2011.

US Premiere | Beyond the White | Documentary Feature
-
In the middle of a breath-taking northern Russian landscape, only a few dozen people live in their traditional houses. They have learned to live with the wild nature of the White Sea, where sand, stone and water leave their mark. Cut off from modern infrastructure and almost forgotten by the regional administration, the people manage their daily lives with the simplest of means. Time seems to pass more slowly here than elsewhere, but even the last inhabited house will soon be empty. Evgeny Kalachikhin's debut film is characterised by melancholic beauty and social change. 'Beyond the White' uses poetic images and atmospheric music to capture the fate of forgotten Russian villages.
-
US Premiere. Watch it online until Sunday, October 23. Don't miss out: https://newyorkfilmweek.eyelet.com/movies/beyond-the-white/8406/
