Green Canvas Productions proudly hosted the Bronx Independent Cinema Center ( ) for their remarkable History of Bronx Cinema video series! As part of this exciting project, BICC sat down with Mateen Kemet, a Bronx-born filmmaker whose creative journey is nothing short of inspiring. Now splitting his time between New York and Los Angeles, Mateen has written and directed 12 short films, a music video, and 11 screenplays. His evolution from Wall Street bond trader to public school teacher—and ultimately to a trailblazing filmmaker—embodies the resilience and passion that define Bronx storytelling.

This past Saturday, we hosted another incredible photography mixer at our studio! The event was a fantastic opportunity for photographers of all levels to connect, network, and collaborate in a creative and inspiring environment. Guests had the chance to experiment with their cameras, explore different setups in our studio space, and share ideas with fellow photography enthusiasts.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of fun, creativity, and community-building. Your energy and passion make these events truly special.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the annual meeting for the 161st Street Business Improvement District, hosted by Charles (Trey) Jenkins and Michael Darryl Torres. Being part of the Bronx community and collaborating with businesses dedicated to building a vibrant commercial corridor is always inspiring. This year, my company, Green Canvas Productions, partnered with the 161 BID to produce a series of videos celebrating their work. Our most recent project was a highlight reel capturing the excitement of the Yankees’ long-awaited return to the World Series after 15 years! Teaming up with BRIC Arts Media, NYC Small Business Services, and Gregory Hernandez, we created a vibrant promotional video showcasing some of our favorite local businesses.
