With all the options that the internet has presented, people expend their energy, money, and time towards things that speak to them in a very specific way. Gone is the era when we all watched the same news, the same commercials, and shopped at the same stores. Not now, when we have options. But are the options diverse enough? There have to be enough of us to constitute "a market" but then why are
we still fighting to see people we identify with on big screens? IF EVERY DOLLAR WE SPEND IS A VOTE TOWARDS THE KIND OF WORLD WE WANT TO LIVE IN, THEN WE NEED BETTER CANDIDATES. WE WANT TO SEE MORE OF US, BECAUSE CONTRARY TO WHAT POPULAR MEDIA PORTRAYS, THERE ARE MORE OF US. Other minority media entities are out there, as well as culture-specific driven initiatives, but there is certainly nothing like this. We wanted a platform that would make our global children proud to be from their respective motherlands. One that was current and forward, relevant, yet rooted in heritage. In that, lies our unique selling proposition. We are a wealthy people, rich in past and future. We can relate, create, and innovate. But before we can sell, we must tell. And before we can tell, we must show. This is what birthed BRWN.
