Partnerships and community engagement play a vital role in fostering strong and meaningful relationships in the work we do. I had the privilege of being invited to an incredible UNO tournament event by Atiba Edwards, President/COO of the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and had the pleasure of meeting Khari Edwards, candidate for Brooklyn Borough President in 2025. It was a fun and inspiring gathering, reminding me how important relationships are for staying connected with the community.

The Major Owens Center is excited to give away over 300 bookbags on Saturday, August 24th. Join us for a day full of fun with games for kids, fantastic community partners, and all the excitement of a carnival, healthcare services, and performances. This event is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best yet, thanks to the hard work of all our partners. We hope to see you there!
