Introducing another fantastic artist this month! Archita Khosla :D

"Archita Khosla is a traditional illustrator based in London, with a BA in Design Communication from Goldsmiths' College, University of London. Archita started her journey in the advertising industry in Singapore but soon after, her passion for children's illustrations took her to London. Her illustrations show a love for bright and happy colours. Archita usually works in traditional mediums, such as coloured pencils, sometimes crayons, and sketch pens."

A big shout-out and welcome to our fantastic new artist !! Juliana Eigner.

"Juliana Eigner was born in São Paulo and currently lives in Ubatuba, a small coastal town in Brazil. Since graduating with a degree in design Juliana has experimented with many different types of art, including jewelry, ceramics, porcelain, collage, and painting. In 2006 she became enchanted by surface patterns and its countless applications. Over the years, she has expanded her research to illustration. Juliana is in love with and inspired by nature."

Why did you make this work:
I wanted to really try and put across how it actually feels when you’re struggling with anxiety and depression on a more emotional level, and was inspired to make a silent comic narrative that people would be able to interpret themselves and even explore their own mental health over the course of the journey depicted within the book.

How was the illustration used:
140 page graphic novel.

How did you make this work:
Pen and ink, ink wash and photoshop.

Biography:
John Cei Douglas is a freelance illustrator based in London with a particular interest in stories, comics and self publishing, epitomised by his narrative approach to illustration. He has developed a strong identifiable lyrical style for his work, often closely linked with themes of mental health and relationships, through picture books and comics to editorial pieces.
