Exploring New Investment Opportunities with Toyota in Japan, for Guyana and the wider region.

Today, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop engaged in high-level discussions with the executives of Toyota Corporation in Japan, focusing on expanding the company’s footprint in Guyana. Rather than limiting its presence to distribution, the talks explored opportunities in renewable energy, parts manufacturing, and electric vehicle production.

In his role as President of the Caribbean Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (CAIPA), he pushed for a regional focus, emphasizing the opportunities for Toyota to tap into the wider Caribbean market. Dr. Ramsaroop highlighted Guyana’s strategic market access, emphasizing the country’s linkages with Brazil, Suriname, and the broader CARICOM region, as well as its access to global markets through various investment treaties.

As Guyana continues to position itself as a hub for investment and innovation, these discussions pave the way for new partnerships that align with the nation’s economic diversification strategy in areas of manufacturing as the energy cost is drastically reduced later this year.
