Originally released digitally in October 2024, Sidereal Malignancy announced the rebirth of COSMOPHAGE. Previously, under the moniker Utterance, the Brazilian band had released the two-song Conflagration EP in 2019 - a tantalizingly short teaser of the band's potential. That potential has now blossomed on Sidereal Malignancy. Honoring that ever-apt title, here do COSMOPHAGE mangle mind and body with gutted 'n' angular DEATH METAL of a most mid-'90s vintage. The spectre of Sinister looms large here, but the Dutch legends' classic works more so form a foundation for COSMOPHAGE ​to find their own voice. And indeed they do across these six songs - slashing one minute, stomping the next, working in walking-backwards riffing as well as copious displays of brute strength, but always with a view ​to violate expectations of where a song could go next. Not so much "tech" as just "fully fried," Sidereal Malignancy is a bountiful feast for death metal diehards who prize brainy brutality and suitably crushing production.

BLOOD HARVEST RECORDS is proud to announce the signing of Finnish AEDES to the label roster. In anticipation of the band's upcoming debut album, we present a worldwide edition of AEDES' magnificent debut mini-album, Odious Imprecation, on CD, 12" vinyl, and cassette tape formats.

Formed in 2023, Finland's AEDES immediately made their name known in the death metal underground with their debut mini-album, Odius Imprecation, self-released later that very year. The quintet's resume is quite varied - Verge, Foreseen, Rivette, Initiated, and Force Kill are but a few - but with AEDES, the focus is firmly within the wider '90s death metal pantheon. It's not unjust to suggest that the spectre of Morbid Angel looms large over Odious Imprecation; from murky, almost-in-reverse riffing to cyclonic descents into the abyss to leads that are melodic yet mind-melted, the altars are indeed full of madness and the sick are dutifully blessed. Still, this deep understanding of the elder gods extends more to songwriting and texture rather than replication of someone else's glories - and AEDES stir their cauldron with the poise and intention of adepts. Trainspotters might also reference the angularity of '90s Immolation or the "refined barbarity" of Peru's Mortem or especially the truer-than-true Sadistic Intent, but the four songs comprising the 24-minute Odious Imprecation lay out plenty of diabolic terrain on which to tread. And tread further AEDES soon will, for the band are currently preparing their debut album for BLOOD HARVEST!

Since their formation in 2019, the ascent of Canada's GUTVOID has been nothing if not meteoric. From their debut EP, Astral Bestiary, to the Four Dimensions of Auditory Terror four-way split shared with BLOOD SPORE, COAGULATE, and SOUL DEVOURMENT the following year - GUTVOID churned forth a Metal of Death that duly devoured the listener whole.
Still, massive potential lurked, and it arrived with one of the most fully-formed death metal debut albums in 2022's Durance of Lightless Horizons. Hailed far and wide upon its release and thereafter, Durance of Lightless Horizons simply intensified all the hallmarks of their sound - heaving, vertigo-inducing, spiraling like tar-thick smoke - and then sharpened them with a sterling sense of clarity, allowing their yearning, come-hither melodicism to evoke both melancholy and malice.

With the new mini-album Breathing Obelisk, totaling 31 minutes across four tracks, one can easily do the math and surmise that GUTVOID here are stretching out into epic territory.
This is GUTVOID at their most approachable AND most alien - clearly recognizable, fully in focus, and yet somehow incomprehensible for the strange transmissions they're emitting from some unknown outpost.
Cementing their status as one of the best still-young death metal entities around, GUTVOID challenge you to stand before their Breathing Obelisk.

Based in the outskirts of Lisbon, PHENOCRYST was formed in early 2020 and features members from acts such as Archaic Tomb, Summon, Concilium and Necrobode.

With a firm foundation in death metal, mixed with influences like doom and some psychedelic vibes, they manage to illustrate soundscapes of disastrous, catastrophic, and annihilating volcanic and natural events. There are not many artists actually singing about this specific topic, if any, and therefore, the lyrical content is also something to explore. As such, the moniker PHENOCRYST is fitting.

Somber yet furious death metal, coiling with both inexorable dread & steely-eyed austerity, portentous and spacious in equal measure, and of course MOLTEN.

Forward-thinking traditionalism? Perhaps, but the real beauty of Cremation Pyre is that it's open to myriad interpretations; one only need step into its lava. PHENOCRYST prove, once again, that Only Death is Real!

Back in 2017, CONTAMINATED loudly and sickly announced their arrival onto the international Death Metal map with their debut album, Final Man. Ichor-dripping DEATH METAL of a most diseased & disgusting hue. At every angle and across every moment, Final Man spewed filth; song titles like "Mired in S**t," "Boneless Mass," and "Co-Opted Into Worthless Sludge" soundly proved that content met form.

In the past six years CONTAMINATED have only released two new songs, but now, finally, they return with a long-awaited second album, Celebratory Beheading. Upping the disgusting stakes yet again with its cover art, Celebratory Beheading literally explodes into being, blasting its filth fast and free before bringing in stomping-yet-angular breakdowns and a whole host of gut-churning intensity. In many ways, Celebratory Beheading's clearly-framed cover mirrors CONTAMINATED's sonic shift; whereas Final Man roamed within a malodorous murk, the Aussies' second full-length sharpens their attack with frightening efficiency. Nevertheless, the latent sensations from that rancid debut remain - rippling disgust, bottomless decay, slipstreaming vomit - only that, now, they're rendered in impossibly powerful tones. Rarely has a death-grinding record sounded this plausibly professional whilst retaining an authentically underground vibe.
