Announcing the world premiere production of 5 & DIME, a new musical adaptation of the cult classic Broadway play and Altman film COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN!

Originally starring , Sandy Dennis, Kathy Bates, and Karen Black as the first trans icon of Broadway, this new musical puts a country rock spin on the classic ensemble drama, along with bringing some much-deserved authenticity to the trans storyline!

Never forget, I started in pørn. 🍆 🍑💦 But as a character actress. And a dancer. 10 years ago I was in Joshua Tree shooting a sacrificial butoh-inspired dance piece for , an experimental hardcore ba****ck pôrn contemplating the gay male impulse to self destruct, with the same pórnstar/studio who would help me create Musical Theatre Factory a couple months later.

Ironically (or not) that was the same weekend I launched in a Palm Springs Airbnb (where we also shot Desperate House Holes) and I began the journey to crowdfund my gender confirmation—the first time crowdfunding was used to raise money for a “s*x change”. Incidentally, I used a Christian platform to accept the donations, which only added to the media spectacle of the whole thing.

Years before that I made my big screen debut in Voluptuous Biker Babes, another experimental põrn film, this one a *W (Big Beautiful Women) homage to Russ Meyer’s cult classic Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill! I played a drag queen cult leader who drugged and kidnapped the B*W icon April Flores and tried to force her into my dance gang. 💦

I assistant directed both pictures, choreographing dance and s*x for the camera, in addition to performing my own campy, absurd, and grotesque q***rness. I love that this is part of my professional origin story, alongside Swedish rock operas and Mexican ritual dance. I got to create liberatory and provocative art with some of my best friends, and both films received theatrical screenings and acclaim in the adult film industry. The Berlin pörn awards actually created a whole new category for Death Drive, bestowing it the Cinema of Cruelty award, and to win a cinema of cruelty award for pōrn in Berlin you know you have to be doing something right—or terribly wrong—depending on your POV. 😂

I am a Jewish person who stands for radical liberation of the oppressed. That value is intrinsic to my Jewishness. That stance demands that I notice and reject false moral equivalencies, especially when convenient, simplistic arguments allow for and embolden implicit or explicit racism, xenophobia, or antisemitism. The exercise now, it seems to me, is to practice non-dualism, to honor emotions like grief and anger, and to do so without pouring fuel on the fire of division.
