Today was a sad day. Today I lost a very special friend after 45 years of being my best friend. So I wrote a letter today to try him I really love him.

The time has come for us to part ways.
Over the past years, you've taught me things I never would have learned without you. You have made me laugh during times of stress. You have lent me a listening ear and given me words of comfort when I needed it. It was never about you having the time but about the fact that you made the time. This has been one of the most precious gifts I've been lucky enough to receive. You gave me the strength to know that I could make wonderful things happen for myself. You have been my friend and mentor for 45 wonderful years. I do not know the words to truly express how much you mean to me. This is merely an attempt and surely a poor one at that. I shall miss you my friend and you will always be with me. Steve O
