Though December 25 has passed, the Christmas season continues in the Catholic Church and won’t end until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (which is the Sunday after the Epiphany).

Until then, St. Patrick's Cathedral and parishes around the Archdiocese of New York remain decorated as a reminder to reflect on the incarnation.

Watch Fr. Enrique Salvo’s homily from this morning’s Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. From our relationship with Christ and His love, love continues to flow out into the world.

Our readings today remind us to remain in Christ and His love.

I’m told that one of the customs of these days is that we return gifts. That’s also not a bad idea for the new year! God gives us gifts constantly, and it’s not a bad idea to return gifts to the Lord in prayer.

Happy New Year! This is a day of new beginnings, and we have a God of fresh starts. We have a God who always wants to renew us!
