Wilson is frustrated

It’s understandable Wilson is frustrated it hasn’t been the start he hoped and the offensive play calling has been terrible. While other receivers are featured it seems Wilson is just another piece in the machine and I think we all feel he could be used more and better.

After getting 11 targets game 1 Wilson hasn’t received that many since. You can’t really say “ Well he’s got a stacked WR room” because Wilson is the head of that room and you see guys like Nico Collins get 15 targets with guys like Stefon Diggs on the roster and Wandale Robinson had 14 even though Nabers is the featured WR for the Giants and this is all while the Jets have struggled to run the ball.

More opportunities mean more chances for YAC which we all know Wilson has elite agility and skill to be one of the best in the league, his usage has been awful.

This is all while rumors of Adams coming to the Jets via trade who will surely take even more opportunities from Wilson. This is the same guy who spent the last couple of years giving everything he had for third rate Qbs and showing up!

He now has fans disrespecting him because of a fumble? After all the excitement he’s given with little to work with?

Feed your talent the right way and they won’t feel this way. This isn’t a Rodgers issue, this is a Hackett and play calling issue and it needs to be fixed Asap.

Blown opportunity Monday

Was I dreaming? That couldn’t be the team I watched last week look nearly flawless fall on their face against a Qb who had 60 yards passing? Could it?

In a rain soaked mess of a game the Jets offensive line failed to protect Rodgers and give him enough time to develop anything down the field ( Hit 14 times and sacked 5)

Jets were even worse trying to run the football with 2.8 yards per carry and the one sliver of hope Allen (4.3 ypc) wasn’t used nearly as much…or at the Goaline? This team struggles with how to use their players at times.

It’s been a bit since I’ve seen a qb this bad play against us. Nix looked lost and had 60 yards passing throwing more footballs into no man’s land than anything else, putting on his best Zach Wilson tribute game and escaped with a victory.

Penalties, missed opportunities, lack of adjustments, poor offensive line play, and the defense still can’t stop the run, this all with extra time to prepare knowing very well this team was going to run…the…ball. They pressured Nix twice.

Was it a blowout no! But the Jets blew a winnable game. Jets beat themselves and have some searching to do with a London game and a division game against the bills after that. Right now, I don’t know what to think of this team.

Each week the coaching staff surprises me, I watch team after team utilize their stars and make adjustments to watch the Jets play flat all game long. Jekyll and Hyde!

If you want to blame this on the weather go right ahead, it was nasty out but for me the Jets need to put their big boy pants on and figure out what type of team they want to be moving forward. Get Breece started early and adjust if he’s not, take a lesson from how the broncos deployed their blitz when you’re not getting pressure up front. Make better play calls in the red zone. Don’t let Darnold beat you…for the love of -

Ahhhh a crisp early morning rise and shine Jets Nation. There’s optimism in the air as I begin my morning routine, and I think a little bit of that has to do with these NY Jets!

For once there’s a feeling that we could be on the attack and with Rodgers over the last couple weeks you have seen a progression especially with his rolling out and movement, already we’ve seen more TD’s then the Jets scored in half a season a year ago, comeback victory and a nearly flawless performance against a division rival. Now the Jets at home take on an opponent they should beat.

Players have responded and everyone seems to have contributed on offense. Lazard, Williams, Wilson, Conklin, Hall, Allen. Have all contributed to the success early on and that’s because of ball placement and timing, something the Jets struggled with the last decade.

Today’s game will be close early with the broncos sporting a solid defense as well but the difference is in Qb play and protection up front. Nix has struggled seeing coverage this year not throwing a single TD pass and running in two to go with 4 interceptions, If the Jets set the edge with there athletic ends nix could toss a few up for the boys!
Do not let him extend drives with his legs and the Jets win by 10 or more.

This is simply a team with a different agenda. One is scrappy with A struggling passer as a Qb and the other is a Top defense with a Hall of fame Qb and a destiny for the playoffs.

Prediction:

5 sacks for the defense and 2ints
Sherwood shows out
McDonald 2 sacks
Allen 1td

Jets win

Beat the teams you’re supposed to and let’s show the Buffalo Bills that this isn’t going to be a cakewalk to the division title. Jet up baby!

Victory Friday!! What…a…game. This is what Jet fans have been waiting for, a real qb with experience, talent and the ability to see the game.

The 40 year old Qb everyone dumped off to the side who wasn’t a Jet fan saying he’s too old and lost a step. Well…

Even though it’s only Three games in Aaron Rodgers is 1st in yards in the NFL (624), Tied for 1st in TD’s. 19th in interceptions (1) and 10th in the league in Qbr. We saw throw after throw in his 281 yard 77% completion percentage night, this man is far from done.

Breece was awesome on the ground with again Braelon Allen looking a little better, as the year goes on I can see Breece really taking on the pass catching opportunities to give way to Allen attempts but not to slight hall. Allen who had over 5.0 yards a carry again on 11 attempts, I think should be used in goal line situations more he’s nearly impossible to bring down at the line unless you break through the line before he gets moving.

Will McDonald is here folks I’ve been telling you since before the season started that this kid is capable and honestly he’s more than capable right now…he’s the best pass rusher in the league. With 5 sacks, this kid is going to have a monster season, Reddick who?

Conklin finally was used and he was clutch with over 80 yards receiving, the blocking up front was clean for Rodgers and when he had to roll out he looked smooth and faster in person than on Tv to be honest.

Ummm Jamian Sherwood folks, is fast and aggressive to the ball carrier, almost knocking Maye out a few snaps into his career. The pats tried to attack the Jets strength on the edges with Williams and Sherwood and they lost…bad. Every Jets defensive lineman practically had a sack or half a sack. they were very active and showed if they work up front the back end has it locked and these are the types of games the Jets are capable of.

All in all, this was the butt whooping and statement game the Jets needed after taking so so many bad losses to the pats. At home opening day, the game had to be ours…and it was Pats only had 139 yards of offense in 78 yards rushing and were sacked 7 times. This broncos game is going to be fun 😎. Jet up baby.

Victory Monday is here folks and this Jet fan can’t be any happier. Through almost a quarter and a half, I was frustrated with the performance of the Jets yet again. They couldn’t run the ball or get any momentum going.

I was questioning Hackett and his mental health as his play calling again resembled that of someone who didn’t realize they had Aaron Rodgers as quarterback! Base plays before checks at the line, have to improve.

The line couldn’t find holes for Hall, and the defense again couldn’t stop the run titans ran for 4.6 yards a carry for 130 yards, But then the Jets woke up! They actually made adjustments and switched to Allen, who once he gets going looks like a nightmare to tackle, They fed Wilson and with 1:47 left Rodgers pitched the ball to Allen who freight trained his way to the endzone.

These are the type of drives that give me hope and got me to say ok if this defense can hold up we got this and honestly it’s been rough. The last two years the Jets defense has been the unit to keep the Jets in it but to start the season they’ve performed flat.

Will McDonald showed up in a big way with Johnson out ( possibly ACL) with 3 sacks and one big one at the end of the game, quieting the criticism.

It was an up and down game that Rodgers settled down and showed his greatness with a 7 play 4 minute drive to end the game.

26 yard dime to Wilson, Three plays later a 19 yard Dime to Mike Williams capped off with a 20yard Allen Run for the TD. This wouldn’t be possible last season.

Jets found their 1/2 RB punch officially, Rodgers was clean no turnovers and had big throws in big moments, McDonald stepped up after an injury, the question looms now. Still work to do with the Run and penalties but Do you bring Reddick in after the Johnson injury? Do you play hardball at this point with injured players and lackluster play up front?

The Jets received a front row seat butt whooping last night to see what a Super Bowl caliber team looks like. A team without their number 1 option and they beat the Jets with an undrafted free agent third year running back. Who decided to have a career day on the jets touted defense. Fun fact jets didn’t have a tackle for loss unless it was a sack (3). Backs fell forward all night.

The Jets were so bad up front, I thought Brock Purdy was a pitcher, I don’t even remember Purdy being on the ground he was sacked three times twice on blitzes by the corners, 1 sack by pressure up front ( Clemons) but I would trade those sacks for more consistent pressure up front, Purdy was so clean most of the game.

The defense is strong in the secondary, when you stop the run it forces teams to go against our strength in long down and distances. Give the cornerbacks a chance,They can only cover so long. Even a healthy, ready and signed Reddick wouldn’t have made much of a difference the Jets defense gave up 8 straight scoring drives, led by the run.

To make matters worse Breece Hall couldn’t find a hole anywhere, for the most part the line did well in protection but the inability to get any type of yardage on first and second down made it very difficult and predictable on what third down was going to be for Rodgers and company.

There was a point in the game where I thought “ does Hackett know we have Rodgers and not Zach?” Was he protecting his aging star? Sure… it just really sucked the life out of the offense ( Run Run Pass) and when you went down 16-7 going into the half with the Niners getting the ball…I knew it could be the end.

And It was…Jets defense couldn’t hold, turnover a bit later by the offense and that was that. Niners are ready Jets are not it’s that simple and it’s understandable.

A team coming off a Super Bowl appearance with little offensive roster loss this offseason and a dynamic play caller ( Shanahan) vs a team who’s never played together with a Qb coming off a devastating injury last season.

But This one falls on the defense, not Rodgers who had zip on the ball and looked pretty good considering ( little slow moving around, which is expected) but the defense have played together and they must find a way to stop the run.

The blue print was put out there on how to beat this Jets team, it’s up to them to show that it was just a hiccup not a formula, Beat a titans team that is riddled with mistakes and young play and build some momentum

Doesn’t seem like a lot but when you turn an undrafted free agent into draft picks and your positions are already filled it’s a win. Good luck to Codrington this secures him a roster spot to start the season that he didn’t have with the Jets congrats except when you play the Jets of course 😎🤝🫡

Reddick shows true colors

Reddick had no intention of coming in house and working on a deal. We now know why the eagles were so eager to move a dynamic player, even though the cap goes up every year. Even though they feel like they’re a Super Bowl contender.

We now know there was agreement to get the man in house and work out a deal. Now reddick wants to leave another franchise and it’s Joe Douglas fault? Reddick wants a team to sign him without being a part of the team at all?

More tenured Jet players have had to wait recently , meant more to the team and still didn’t pull this ( Quinnen Williams)

No…sorry, this is a player who’s trying to protect himself and in the process could cost himself millions of dollars. Very few teams are going to be willing to pay a player who on Good faith blew every opportunity to acclimate with a Super Bowl hopeful team.

You have players like Aaron freaking Rodgers by passing 30 million dollars to shift money around for his team and this guy just can’t show up 1 day in camp and show why he deserves to get that contract?

It’s like paying for a Lamborghini without test driving it…sure I know what it’s capable of but can we see it in action, can u push it a bit before I drop half my rent check on it? Lol.

Not to mention this guy shows up and performs with the Jets you can write your dollar bill sign, this guy wants to lock in without LOCKING IN and it shows another money chaser not willing to put in the work, how’s that gonna look year two…three…

I mean the amount of support for a player who has done Zilch, zero, Nada for your team that has the highest of expectations is comical. After Joe dug your team’s image out of being a must stop in the way for players to get more money from the team…comical.

Because again what team is going to want to go through what the Jets are? It would be the exact…same…thing…he was brought here to take the team over the edge and again Reddick wants something for nothing, I say let him sit he will come around when the Jets are winning games without him.

Adrian Martinez the 6”2 2024 UFL MVP impressed in his first action as a Jet. I liked his legs and mobility, crisp ball underneath not wasting time with quick decision making. Felt they ran a bit too much in his first series, the line wasn’t getting much push.

Martinez bobbled the ball in the third quarter, picked it back up and threw it away on a scramble to the outside instead of running out of bounds and losing yards. It’s a split decision play I’ve seen young players screw up just running out to avoid the hit and lose yards. Smart play.

McCutcheon missed a big play on the sideline, jumping too early instead of running through.

Big time throw to Smith from Martinez in the 4th putting it in a place only the receiver could get and put the Jets on the 3 yard line.

With 3:30 left on the run outside, Martinez threw a perfectly placed football. Extending the drive yet again. He kept extending drives with his legs and I thought it was impressive in how seamless he was using his legs while still selling the pass for those short seconds needed to freeze the backers, he was clearly confident coming off a strong football year for him. Confidence is everything at that position.

Jets then ran the clock down to get the win but thought they should have tested Martinez gave him one throw in that situation he extended the drive to even get the team there, to see what he’s made out of and then just go for the win. But I get it. Honestly I would like to see more of Martinez for qb 3.

Braelon Allen is going to be a problem, and early we will see his impact in spelling Hall. We will talk about him on our upcoming show Wednesday 8pm est. Jets win 20-17 Jet up!
