🏁 Spec Sheet: For 2025 the Ioniq 5 can be has with a 63kWh battery or an 84kWh battery in RWD or AWD. Range varies from 240 miles to over 310 miles.

The new Model Y is skimpy on powertrain information though the new Long Range AWD should come in around 320 miles. 🏁

The ioniq 5 is also 4.3 longer in the wheelbase to the Model Y, prioritizing passenger room. A the best part, the ioniq 5 gives you a full digital cluster, a HUD, ambient lightings, OTA updates, and wireless CarPlay and android auto. It also has a Digital Key and vast safety and driver support systems.

Spec Sheet: Under the hood is a TT V8 paired to an all electric motor to produce around 843 HP and 1,034 lb-ft of (1,400NM) torque of course going to all four wheels. 0-60 happens in 2.8sec with a 197MPH (315km/h) TopSpeed. The car can travel 7 miles (12km) on EV mode alone up to 80MPH (130km/h). The engine alone makes 630HP and 664 lb-ft of torque.

Well the base LX has been dropped, now starting at LX 600 Premium. Safety System+ 3.0 is now standard across the lineup. New of course is the LX700h, starting at $115,350 in the Overtrain Trim. The 700h Ultra luxury can top out over $141,350.

BMW blog is reporting that there is no current 2 series coupe successor planned, at least, no gas version. A full EV 2 series coupe replacement could arrive after 2030, heck it may even blend the UKL based 2-Series gran coupe and CLAR based 2 -series coupe together. Into one model as a gran coupe ev. Of course, these are speculation but things at BMW are changing fast.

A new combustion 3 series is on its way, though as is a Neue Klasse based 3 series EV. Would this format follow with the slower selling 2 series coupe? Time will surely tell and BMW will have the platform flexibility to do so, but what choice they make could mark the end of the combustion 2 series coupe we have come to love.

[2-6-25 /// ] Subaru has revealed two new Forester variants as part of a more aggressive product launch strategy. And after awhile of waiting, the all new 2026 Forester Wilderness is here. As an all new generation, we have new styling all around but familiar Wildneress black 17in wheels, gold accents, and lots of plastic body cladding. Subaru also has fitted new springs and shocks and a new differential temperature sensor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏁 Spec Sheet: Powering the Forester Wilderness for 2026 is a 2.5L Flat 4 making 180HP and 178 lb-ft of torque sent to all four wheels at all times through Subaru’s own Linertronid CVT. Subaru changed the final drive from 3.7 to 4.11 for 2026.

What’s odd is that power is down from 182HP of previous, but torque jumps up from 176 to 178. But this torque now comes in at 3,700RPM vs 4,400RPM. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We also get decent off road clearence, wider all terrain rubber, and 9.3 inches of ground clearence (0.1 inch more than before)., dual X Modes, and faster center-differential lockup for reduced wheelspin. The wilderness also gains the new digital cluster and can now tow 3,500lbs thanks to a new transmission cooler. Even the roof rails can hold 800lbs. It will arrive fall 2025.

This unique hybrid combines Subaru’s famous Boxer engine and full time symmetrical AWD with a battery and eMotor borrowed from Toyota. We also find an all new digital gauge cluster and a unique new Boxer Hybrid badge outside. It also retains X-mode, SI-Drive, an EV drive mode, and a six-speed manual shift mode. 🏁 Spec Sheet: The unique e-boxer powertrain uses an Atkinson cycle 2.5L Flat-4 making 162HP. With the hybrid system, it makes 194HP. Though the eMotor alone makes 118HP and 199 lb-ft of torque, so the combined figure is confusing. This is a parallel hybrid with the other eMotor acting as a starter motor, a CVT torque fill, and a battery generator. It gets 35MPG combined, 34 highway and 35 highway. The best part of this system is the unique mechanical symmetrical AWD system and longitudinal layout remains. The future vision of the Aston lineup will be like how the Porsche 911 lineup is laid out, telling as Hallmark formerly was CEO at Bentley. So expect more variants of the Vantage, DB12 and others. Aston makes some interesting manual gearboxes, often in a dog-leg format. The last production run manual Aston was back in 2019, and even it was limited. Of course we saw the manual Valour and Valiant, but those were ultra limited vehicles. Hallmark mentions we could wait just under 2 years to see unique variants of Aston models with retuned suspension, power output and transmission options. Heck, even the DBX is on the table for some variants (but not a manual).

Aston also will soon flex their partnership with Lucid for their upcoming Ev as well though their hybrid lineup is taking a different route.

Nissan as a company is in financial turmoil, so much so it has been reported they would have to 3x profits to make the merger work. Their operating profit just fell from 3367 billion yen ($2.3 billion USD) to just 32.9 billion ($225 million USD). Another report was Honda buying Nissan shares, making it a Honda subsidiary. New reports claim Honda isn’t looking fondly over Nissans recovery plans while Nissan’s executives would much rather remain independent and autonomous rather than be absorbed by Honda. Even cutting 9,000 jobs, cutting global production by 20% and reducing plant staff in the US wouldn’t be enough for Honda to make this merger work. It’s more and a more apparent that Honda likely doesn’t want this merger in the first placed, rather they are being pressured from Japanese economic authorities to help save an iconic national company.

But latest updates say Nissan outright rejects the subsidiary plan and now is ready to walk away from the $60 billion merger. No final decision has been made and Nissan says multiple routes are being discussed.

[2-5-25 /// /// Image by: Aston Martin/ Heart of Raving] Meet the Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar, ready to compete at both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship. The story behind this once cancelled endurance racer project is wild, with it being stopped in 2020 only to be revived now! It should make its dynamic debut at the Qatar 1812KM on February 28! Oh and it’s the only hypercar racer derived from the road going model… and it has a V12 still. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Spec Sheet: There are some changes to the powertrain aswell. Unlike the normal Valkyrie which is a hybrid, this ONLY uses the 6.5L Naturally aspirated V12 by Cosworth. In the AMR-Pro it can produce around 1,000HP and 545 lb-ft of torque. Of course that V12 has a 11,000RPM redline as well. Due to balance of power rules, it’s limited to 680HP

In collaboration with The Heart of Racing, the Aston Valkyrie AMR Pro is now undergoing track testing as the AMR-LMH. The Valkyrie LMH will also be the only V12 on the lineup, making for one unique and iconic sound. There will be 2 WEV Valkyrie’s, driven by Marco Sorensen, Tom Gamble, Alex Riberas, and Harry Tincknell. Just 1 IMSA competing Valkyrie, in a blue livery, we’ll debut in March at Sebring and driven by Ross Gunn and Roman de Angelis.

Inside, it feels like an Apple Store that can transform into a night club with wild ambient lighting. Under the hood? Well that’s where it’s more AMG than ever before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s assisted by a 48v mild hybrid system an an F1 derived electric exhaust gas turbo. Power is sent through a 9 speed multi-clutch gearbox with a 31% front, 69% rear torque distribution. Now that’s AMG. 🏁

+Design is stunning. Inside is a simple WOW. Sharp trim, bold tech, sporty yet comfortable seats, and endless tech. It’s still a practical family SUV.
+Turbo 4? Don’t look away. I was shocked at the performance and it actually has a decent exhaust note.

Lows:
-The GLC 43 is pricy, coming in well north of an X3 M50 or SQ5.
-Options are expensive, this $77,575 tester lacked adaptive radar cruise and other features.
-Touch focused interior can be confusing and cumbersome
-Gloss black plastic trim & tiny cup holder area

8/10 - 2 Cylinders short, the new GLC 43 is a better handler, performer, and luxury vehicle than ever before. Though its price may leave you looking elsewhere.

While it still won’t be coming to the US, this is still one of the most unique CS branded BMW models to date. The M3 CS touring has shaved 33 lbs from the normal version, bringing it down to 4,078lbs, not bad for an AWD wagon. It features a full carbon aero kit along with signature CS yellow DRLs and 19/20 inch forged wheels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🏁 Spec Sheet: The standard M3 continues to make 473HP through an 8-speed auto or 6-speed manual to the rear wheels. The M3 Competition also continues to make 503HP to the rear wheels.

The Competition xDrive though gains power for 2025, now making 523HP and 479 lb-ft of torque

This CS makes 543HP and 479 lb-ft of torque and is m xDrive only. 🏁

Expect pricing in Germany to start at the equivalent of $159,000 USD.

Well in March, we will see the all new PPC based Audi A6 sedan. This was originally to be renamed the A7 as the A6 e-tron would fill that place.. but now we will have the A6 and A6 e-tron. But what about the new A5? Well this one is a bit too far down the road so we will still have the A5 Avant and sedan/sportback while the new A4 will be smaller and be “e-tron.” The Q4 e-Tron and Q6 e-Tron will also keep their names and the Q5 will still be combustion.

But now more than ever, Audi may have the most confusing model lineup naming strategy. Remember that random switch from 3.0 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI to 40, 50 and 55? Well they also are ending that too.

[1-27-25 /// ] Both Genesis and Audi launched wild looking EV off-road concepts last week and while neither will likely see the light of day as is, it begs the question of do we need more lifted EV SUVs with big tires… or treads? Audi’s example is called the Q6 e-Tron off-road Concept, using 2 electric motors with portal axles. The Genesis example is a bit more wild, called the GV60 MIV concept. Short for Mountain intervention Vehicle, this GV60 has been fitted with full on snow tracks along with an upgraded interior, medical supplies, and emergency communication systems. Genesis even designed new carbon fiber wheel arches along with a heavy duty roof rack.

Caterham’s chief designer, Anthony Jannarelly, has penned this wild new machine to look like a 1960s supercar restomod. If enough allocations are received, they could make 60 examples in collaboration with Podium Advanced Technologies. This Italian firm is already building other custom vehicles. Pricing could start around $900,000.

[1-28-25 /// /// Images by: Rivian ] VW has started a firestorm over at Rivian that may transform them into one of the most powerful new brands. As we all know, VW is investing $5.8 billion into Rivian primarily because VW’s Cariad software division has not been producing good products. This is an effort to fix this issue and have Rivian develop software and electrical architecture for new VW products. But already, Rivian has announced multiple other OEMs want in on this deal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But it’s not just software VW and Rivian will be working on, VW also revealed it may work with Rivian to share modules and bundle purchasing volumes. This new electrical architecture is being developed under the new VW-Rivian joint venture, and may become a standard for future EVs. It will debut on the new VW Golf EV and the Porsche Cayenne EV “K1”.

In the future, Rivian could take advantage of this desire from other OEMs and license out their system. Rivian is far ahead of VWs EV architectures already. VW cars have around 100 ECUs, Rivian has condensed this down to 7. Let’s make this clear though, VW and Rivian aren’t building a platform together, but a new software derived electrical architecture made up of wiring, semi conductors, sensors, and more.

VW Group overall Is planning to cut over 35,000 jobs in general, reducing production by over 730k units and moving their models around plants. Nonetheless, the Q8 e-Tron and Q8 e-Tron sportback, of which both just received extensive facelifts, will be set for discontinuation. Audi has announced that the model will likely carry on into 2025 until all inventory units are sold. This is the only plant where the Q8 e-tron is made and there is 0 point to keep it alive.

The Q8 e-Tron is old, riding on a modified MLBevo architecture. Audi + Porsche already are selling new PPE (premium platform electric) vehicles, rendering the Q8 e-Tron obsolete.

While it still won’t be coming to the US, this is still one of the most unique CS branded BMW models to date. The M3 CS touring has shaved 33 lbs from the normal version, bringing it down to 4,078lbs, not bad for an AWD wagon. It features a full carbon aero kit along with signature CS yellow DRLs and 19/20 inch forged wheels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Expect pricing in Germany to start at the equivalent of $159,000 USD.

The iX Xdrive 60 is now the base model and the old M60 has been bumped up to M70 status. The design has received a overhaul too with iconic glow kidney grilles, reshaped bumpers and all new headlights. The M70 gains an M4-Esq grille design too. There are also new wheels designs from 20 to 23 inches. The 21 & 22 inch wheels use 70% recycled aluminum too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🏁 Spec Sheet: The 60 uses dual motors to make 536HP and 650HP for the M70. That new Mup can get to 60MPH under 3.6 seconds too. The 60 gets 340 miles of EPA rated range, 30 miles more than before, and 302 miles on the M70. Remember the EPA cycle for BMW’s has proven to be a conservative number. There also is a new Xdrive 45 402HP and a 312 mile range. 🏁

Inside is a familiar space with the fantastic idrive 8.5 system. The major update here is on the new M70 model with new multi contour seats with active lumbar and side support and more. They come in a variety of materials, such as microfibre/Sensatec in Atlas Grey/Black with M-specific stitching, Amido natural leather, or Castanea natural leather. BMW has fitted a more efficient heat pump too. Overall this is a sweet update. Pricing for the 60 starts at $88,500 and $111,500 for the M70.
