The Oklahoma Sooners have made history by winning their fourth-straight Women's College World Series championship, a first in NCAA softball. Oklahoma pitcher Kelly Maxwell was named the 2024 WCWS Most Outstanding Player after their 8-4 victory over Texas.

Coach Patty Gasso praised her team, saying, "They've cemented themselves in history. These guys will never, ever be forgotten."" This marks their eighth championship overall and their sixth in the last eight postseasons. Congrats to the Oklahoma Sooners for their incredible achievement! "
