Walmort Portrait Studio
Thomas R Bruce and Charles Shriner have been making music and video together as Walmort Portrait Studio (WPS) since 2016. The music is electronic, improvised, and incorporates multiple styles and techniques including post-classical experimental, glitch groove and industrial ambient.
The music of WPS explores the relationship between the tyranny of aging and copycat violence. With influences as diverse as Scarlatti and Poppy, new variations are manufactured from both mundane and transcendent structures.
Ever since WPS met as children we have been fascinated by the unrelenting divergence of the human condition. What starts out as a triumph of artistic interrogation soon becomes corrupted into a carnival of lust, leaving only a sense of chaos and hope for a new order - “Daughter of the Regiment”.
As subtle derivatives become reconfigured through diligent and academic practice, the listener is left with an epitaph for the edges of our world.

On tonight's Audio Collision we'll be shining a spotlight on prolific Philidelphia-based film composer Philippe Ge**er.
Formerly from the group Heat From A DeadStar, Ge**er forged a successful solo career scoring soundtracks for film trailers and Horror movies.
But by far his most notable works are the many albums and collaborations he releases under the alias JOHN 3:16.
His music, dark, ambient soundscapes punctuated by heavy percussion and industrial overtones, dwells heavily on Biblical themes and apocalyptic visions.
But even amongst his most desolate compositions the listener can find occasional sonic pathways to hope and redemption.
