The Hong Kong dragon boat races at flushing meadow Park in New York have come and gone it's an annual event every summer. The dragon boat racers represent a variety of corporations industries and nonprofits around the city and beyond. The winners get a trophy and some prize money and a photo op here are all the winners and the non-profit organizations that they represented. I had a few minutes before I left the event so I got my picture taken in the lobby of the Hong Kong trade office here in midtown.

How are good friends Chris and Diana of Asian in NY are back at their annual fashion show schedule after a few years off for covid. This year's show featured several Taiwan designers and it was held at the new Taiwan cultural and economic center location that was recently remodeled in Flushing queens. They are always responsible for a good time and promoting Taiwan culture especially in the fashion world which is significant. Congratulations for another great show. Glad we could be there and we're invited.

We look forward to visiting the Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center in NYC on June 23-25. This year, the annual NY VinExpo will be co-habitating at Javits same dates. Chinamerica Radio always covers these events, and we are especially looking to meet some food and beverage vendors from China, Taiwan, and Asia. Watch for us if you attend. Today is the first day of Chinese New Year and the celebration begins on Mott Street in Chinatown NYC. Many other celebrations throughout the month as all the parties, parades, dinners, and traditions shared by multiple Asian cultures take their turn.

Apparently a rarely celebrated holiday known as Radio Day has come and gone. I don't know how I missed that.. I've only been in radio for the past 67 years. And still host the weekly Country Oldies Show and am executive producer of Chinamerica Radio online. Somehow it seems that I just can't stop being on the radio. Best wishes to all of you with whom I have worked and who have had the opportunity to share the microphone with me from time to time over the past six decades. All is well I am healthy in New York keep in touch.

Moshikou Street - Beijing, China: Often voted one of the most scenic streets in Beijing runs about a mile in length. It's narrow and mostly supports pedestrian traffic. Lined on both sides by small shops selling food, souvenirs, art, clothes, et al. In these photos you will see four animals adorning the Moshikou Street pathway. The cats art from the days when so many food stalls had cats to control the vermin; the Rabbits for this Year of the Rabbit; the camels for when Moshikou Street was the main entry into the city of Beijing with merchants having travelled thousands of miles from throughout Asia with camels packed with merchandise. The fourth animal is me in the striped shirt.

We want to thank all our listeners for their support during the Covid 19 era. During this time, Chinamerica Radio continued to broadcast the best in Chinese Pop Contemporary 24/7 without missing any downtime. For everyone stuck at home, we are happy that many of you discovered our station and spent some of that time listening to us. We'll be back appearing in more public events in person, soon. We've also update our page and invite your posts.

Although we are not a non-profit organization by charter, our staff members are all volunteers and there are no paid employees or officers. We also operate an internship program to train and encourage Chinese-Americans to become engaged in the broadcasting and media industry. We have some loyal advertisers, but our listeners axsked if they could contribute a small "thank you" donation. Therefore we've set up a GoFundMe page for that purpose.
