“Multiversus” is scheduled to officially shut down.

Developer Warner Bros. Games recently announced in a blog post that Season 5, which launched on Tuesday, will be the last content update for the fighting game. Online features will remain active until the conclusion of the fifth season on May 30th. After that date, players will be restricted to offline play, and the game will be removed from download options on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

The game’s director, Tony Huynh, took to social media to convey that this outcome is one that no one desired, and he urges players to fully enjoy Season 5 while they still have the chance. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who has supported “Multiversus” so far and for contributing to making this “dream” a reality.

Season 5 of “Multiversus” is currently active and brings new playable characters, featuring Aquaman from DC Comics and Lola Bunny from Looney Tunes.

With tariffs scheduled to begin at midnight on February 4th, the gaming industry is bracing for potential changes. China remains a key production hub for consoles, with companies like PlayStation and Nintendo relying on the country for their latest hardware. However, during President Trump's last term, Nintendo shifted some production from China to Vietnam.

In 2024 alone, video game spending in the U.S. reached nearly $60 billion, according to the ESA. The new tariffs could influence pricing and availability, impacting gamers nationwide.

Roman Reigns takes center stage on the cover of 'WWE 2K25!'

Developer 2K Studios unveiled the first official glimpse of the game’s cover featuring "the Tribal Chief" on social media Monday night." The post featured a caption urging gamers to 'ACKNOWLEDGE HIM!' The cover image captures Roman as he gets ready to deliver his iconic 'Superman Punch,' with his manager Paul Heyman observing from ringside.

2K has confirmed that the former Universal Champion will be featured on the cover of the game's 'Bloodline Edition,' alongside other members of WWE’s Bloodline faction. A special 'Deadman Edition' featuring The Undertaker will also be released.

'WWE 2K25' will be available for purchase on Friday, March 14th.

The Video Game History Foundation's digital library is set to launch soon.

The non-profit announced in a post on the social media platform Bluesky last week that the online database is set to officially launch on Thursday, January 30th. The post also featured the caption “good things come to those who wait,” and mentioned that more information will be shared following the launch. The digital library will offer gamers access to the complete collection of the Foundation, featuring 1,500 rare, out-of-print video game magazines along with various other resources.

The Video Game History Foundation was founded in 2017 with the mission of preserving, celebrating, and educating people on the rich history of gaming.

The magic continues with action adventure from with a focus on monsters in the South of the United States... corrupting animals and other such bayou creatures. The animation is something to be noticed, somewhere between computer graphics, and Ray Harryhausen stop motion.

The crown jewel of this direct, in most estimations, - The Dark Ages. Moving the DoomSlayer from space to what looks to be a more medievel setting. But as with everything in Doom, it may not be what it seems.

Get ready, because 'Sonic the Hedgehog 4' is on its way!"

Paramount Pictures announced this week that the highly anticipated fourth installment of the beloved film franchise will hit theaters on March 19, 2027. The film was said to be in development shortly before the release of “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” last December. “Sonic 3” has received rave reviews from both critics and audiences, achieving an impressive 86% approval rating from critics and a remarkable 95% from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, the film has grossed over $420 million worldwide.

The initial film released in 2020 earned a critic approval rating of 64%, while its sequel in 2022 improved that score to 69%.

Paramount revealed earlier this month that the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise has surpassed $1 billion in global box office earnings.

At FOX on Games, we live and breathe gaming. We know how challenging it is to find time to play all the games we love, let alone master them. So, when we hear claims about tech giants like Elon Musk being top-tier gamers, we can't help but raise an eyebrow. Running a social media platform, a rocket company, an electric car manufacturer, and a tunneling enterprise is no small feat. No matter how much someone claims they don't sleep, it's hard to believe they can also game at a professional level.

Recently, a live stream of Path of Exile 2—a game notorious for its complexity and demand for skill—showed Musk making some rookie mistakes. This isn't to disparage his gaming abilities, but let's be realistic: either he doesn't have the time to be that good, or he's neglecting his business responsibilities, which would be a concern for investors.

In a conversation shared by YouTuber NikoWrex, Musk was asked about his gaming habits:

Niko: “Have you ever level boosted and/or purchased gear/resources for PoE2 and Diablo 4?”

Musk: “It’s impossible to beat players in Asia if you don’t.”

Niko: “Regarding PoE2, was it your intention to take full credit for leveling your HC characters?”

Musk: “No, never claimed that. The top accounts in Diablo or PoE require multiple people playing the account to win a leveling race.”

Gaming is a beloved hobby for many and a profession for a select few. It's important to acknowledge the dedication required to excel in gaming. So, let's not pretend to be the best at something when we're outsourcing the effort. After all, even the most successful individuals have their limits.
