To the Men’s Initiative: Y’all were the first organization I was introduced to on campus. Y’all took me in when I transferred and I quickly found a safe space. This year, I joined our Rights of Passage program and was given tools that have made me into a better Black man and I gained 17 other brothers. To the men’s initiative, I am my brother’s keeper.
To the Psi Phi chapter of the glorious fraternity of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity inc., I’ve learned what it takes to be a leader, a friend, and of service. This year has been a big year for us and I see even bigger things in our future.
To the Honors college, thank you all for challenging me not only through my coursework but also as a student. Thank you to Dr. Miller, Dr. Jackson, and Ms. Trudie for all the work that you all do and have done for me and others. And thank you all for giving me the chance to serve as your communication director for the 2022-2023 school year.
To the speech and debate team, I hate that I didn’t get to experience more time with you all but for the year that I did get to spend getting to know everyone I want to say thank you. Thank you for taking me in and giving me the tools I needed to become a better speaker. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have been able to final in extemporaneous speaking at the national HBCU speech and debate competition. The talent on this team in unmatched and I’m going to miss y’all sincerely.
And lastly, thank you to everyone who has supported me and been there for me along this crazy journey. Thank you to my dad and Z’Kyia. Even though y’all aren’t here with me physically, I hope y’all are smiling up in heaven for me!💙
See y’all May 6th🎓
