Alright, here goes my age 30 post, because you only do this once. Who knows if IG will still be around in a decade? Anyway, it feels nice to enter 30, as it feels like I can renew my focus on life and figure myself out again. In the last 10 years, so many things have happened.
Alright, here goes my age 30 post, because you only do this once. Who knows if IG will still be around in a decade? Entering 30 feels like a chance to renew my focus on life. In the last 10 years, I graduated college, married my college sweetheart, ran a marathon in Berlin, visited Italy (Florence feels like my future home), appeared live on tv on a Jimmy Kimmel show. I met celebrities like Stan Lee, Lin-Manuel, Kevin Hart, Guillermo del Toro, etc. I got involved in my uptown community, made short films, and had my photography featured in a movie. I also hosted a short-lived podcast (Empanadas Sin Rasins) and made many great friends.
On the flip side, we went through a pandemic, I had knee issues that made me stop running, I gained a lot of weight, lost my grandmother and other family members, and recently found out I have celiac disease. But what is life without obstacles? I also went bald, which should be embraced more by men and society.
I'm not one to reflect on my life because I’m always looking forward and don’t like looking back, so it is nice to remember how much you can do in life and how fast time can pass you by. Do what you love, because those moments will live with you forever. Those "side quests", those day at the park, might be remembered by others but not by you, which is what matters. As I’m typing this I’m realizing that in my 20s I spent too much time at the park, although I have no regrets.
Maybe my 20s were about discovering and learning and my 30s will be all about ex*****on (not the beheading kind). Not too sure what this means, but it makes sense to me. I’ll report back in 10 years on this.
My last thought : As you get older material things matter less.
I think this post was more for me than for you, but if you read this, thank you for the time and hope contributed positively to your life.
Lastly, thank you all for the birthday wishes!
