I work at a warehouse. I've seen plenty of stray animals, but Ollie was... different. Every single day, at the same time, he'd come by and just stare at the bike shop window with the saddest eyes ever. He had a leash and looked clean — clearly, he used to have an owner. My son's only three. Out of nowhere, he started crying EVERY SINGLE TIME I took him to daycare. This had NEVER happened before. At first, I thought it was just a typical 3-year-old crisis, but something felt off. Johnny was crying, and he kept begging me not to take him. I promised him I'd pick him up early - luckily, I left work early and showed up at the daycare just in time for lunch. Parents aren't usually allowed to go there, but I snuck in. And then I finally saw THE REASON my little boy had been crying! Gosh, I was absolutely LIVID and horrified!

I always knew I was adopted—my dad told me when I was three. My adoptive mom passed away just six months later, and I don't really remember her, just her warm smile. After that, it was just me and Dad.

But growing up wasn't easy. My dad constantly reminded me I wasn't really his. Anytime I struggled, he'd say things like, "Maybe you got that from your real parents" or "You're lucky I even kept you."

When I was six, he told a group of neighbors I was adopted, loud enough for everyone to hear. By the next day, the kids at school were calling me the "orphan girl." The teasing never stopped, and when I came home crying, Dad just said, "Kids will be kids." He even took me to orphanages on my birthdays to show me how "lucky" I was compared to the kids there.

For 30 years, I lived believing I'd been abandoned, that I was a burden. My fiancé, Matt, was the first person to encourage me to dig into my past. "Maybe finding out more about your biological parents could bring you some closure," he said.

MY SISTER-IN-LAW THREW OUR MOM'S ASHES AWAY WITHOUT TELLING US—SHE GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED ON CHRISTMAS.

A week ago, my brother and his wife stormed into our house asking to stay because their heating system was broken. Of course, we agreed to help.

While constantly using our bathroom instead of the guest shower and taking my things without asking, I noticed that the vase holding our mom's ashes was gone. This was our first Christmas without Mom, and she had stated in her will that she wanted to "spend" her first holiday after her passing with us in the room as we celebrated.

During breakfast, I asked:

Me: "Has anyone seen Mom?"
Her: "Oh, I threw them out behind the house. That vase scared me to death every time I saw it!"
Me: "YOU DID WHAT?!"

I shot up, ready to lunge at her. My husband and brother had to hold me back. I COULDN'T BELIEVE it. Mom had one wish, and this woman had just tossed her away like garbage. Furious, I ran to the backyard and frantically tried to collect whatever I could.

That night, as I stewed in anger, ready to kick her out of the house on Christmas, we suddenly heard her bloodcurdling scream from upstairs.⬇️
