As a poet, essayist, and fierce advocate for justice, she gave voice to the experiences of Americans, especially Black women, with courage, grace, and profound insight. Her work will continue to shape the way we think about identity, love, struggle, and the beauty of life itself.
At our bookstore, her beautiful words live on our shelves, but more importantly, in the hearts of all who encountered them.
