Good Sunday morning

I know I have haters. Always have always will not matter correct my forecast of a weather pattern will be. I get it. I can’t please everyone. But….

I been warning for a long time. Warm up and nd of January into February. Then mid February on get ready because winter will be back. Now it’s been cold. It’s not like past years we seen temps in the 60s and 70s in the middle of winter. I called that but what I was wrong was so much dry air. I didn’t call for a snowstorm in New Orleans or Florida. I didn’t think the jet would go that far south.

So let’s bring in my personal friend third person Adam: So Adam what is the difference between the pattern last month and this month? Great question Adam. So Adam we have a negative pna. That will push the se ridge nw. Meaning warm air in the se. That in combination with cold air pushing from the west creates storms.
So Adam you are calling for big snows? Adam calm down there the haters don’t like hyping. What I am saying is we have a lot of moisture to work with and depending on the storm track we can see icing and snow. Adam when is the first event? Tonight! Umm tonight? Yes Adam tonight but it is very minor. Coating to two inches from nyc. North shore of li on north. I been warning the contractors to get ready to salt tonight. Not a big deal at all as temps warm tomorrow. Adam that is nothing. I know calm down there Adam there is more. Mid week another storm arrives could start as ice n snow especially nw then turn to rain. The. Super Bowl another storm looks like a mix. Ok Adam but where is the snow? Adam chill we getting there. Ok so remember I been saying second half of February. That’s when I think the bigger snows will fall and colder air presses. We will have colder air coming in mixed with storms. The key is the warmer air to our south that will provide the fuel. Adam so you are confident in winter coming back and this time with snow? Yesss Adam I am pretty confident. I laid out my thoughts for weeks and months for this winter. I wish we had some more snow but the cold air was spot on. Then the warm up. Now this moisture cold pattern coming up. Adam you do know you have many doubters and they will say ohhhh he hyping again and wants subscribers. I know Adam I know. Of course I want subscribers it helps pay for my time and bills. But….. if I am wrong they will sign up and leave. Who wants to pay for a forecaster who hypes and is wrong. I am my worst critic trust me. Did I hype when I said a warm up is coming and not good for snow lovers? True Adam. Very true.

What u go over on the patreon app is long term forecast teleconnections. The mjo is really driving the pattern this winter but I show you why it was wrong and how it corrects over time. The epo being negative pushes the cold that is why we not as warm as we could be. Nao going negative next weekend look out! Wait Adam what about the storms? You go over it? Several days of excessive rainfall are expected across northern CA as an atmospheric river continues through early next week. Three day precipitation of 4-7" (10-15" in the Sierra Nevada) could lead to flooding, mudslides, and debris flows, particularly in the Slight Risk area.

Falling temperatures are expected through the day across much of the region. Temps are starting this morning in the mid 30s to low 40s. However, they will fall into the upper 20s to mid 30s by midday as a breezy northwest wind gusting up to 25-30 mph ushers in colder air.
