By 1969 Miles Davis had gone electric with the release of In a Silent Way & Bi***es Brew alienating many in the mainstream jazz community but while attracting younger rock audiences with at the time what was considered "radical electric fusion music". Legendary SF rock promoter Bill Graham got the bright idea to do a series of shows at The Fillmore having Miles open up for the The Grateful Dead in 1970 betting on that their music would compliment each other and expose Miles to a rock audience. For this Sunday's show I decided to select some tracks from Miles & The Dead that I feel do just that. Join me this Sunday from 9-10AM EST/1500-1600 CET on Radio Free Brooklyn for this El Americano Cósmico Thanksgiving Weekend Psychedelic Special. Can u dig it?
