Thomas Fuller, born in 1710 in Benin and enslaved in America, earned the title "Virginia Calculator" for his incredible mental math skills. In 1724, he was shipped to America and later amazed scholars by solving complex math problems in minutes, including calculating the exact number of seconds in a man’s 70-year lifespan. His brilliance was a testament to the intelligence often denied to enslaved Africans, proving his remarkable talent despite never receiving a formal education.
