Salem's Lot is an adaptation of the 1975 novel by Stephen King. The feature film from New Line Cinema was announced in April 2019 when The Hollywood Reporter revealed Gary Dauberman was set to write the screenplay and executive produce and James Wan was attached as a producer. In an interview, Dauberman was asked if he would apply the same writing approach he utilized for It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019), adaptations of King's novel It, to which he replied "I like to be as true to the story as I possibly can until it gets a little too unwieldy for a movie.

In April 2020, Dauberman was announced as director. In August 2021, Lewis Pullman was selected to portray the film's lead role. In September, principal photography commenced in Boston with cinematographer Michael Burgess. Filming in the state of Massachusetts took place in Ipswich and the towns of Sterling and Clinton, both within Worcester County.[15] The Princeton Public Library in Princeton, Massachusetts, was also booked as a filming location for three days. Additional photography occurred in late May or early June 2022. During post-production, Nathan Barr and Lisbeth Scott composed the score for the film.

Salem's Lot is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2024. It was originally set to be released on September 9, 2022, the post-Labor Day weekend that had been successful for the studio's past horror releases, but was delayed to April 21, 2023,[17] "due to COVID-related delays in the post-production realm", before losing its release date to Evil Dead Rise.

Terminator 7 could revive the Terminator franchise by looking to a key element of Terminator: Genysis and Terminator: Dark Fate. The Terminator movies were once some of the hottest action and sci-fi movies around with the franchise’s first two installments, with 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day standing as the franchise’s peak. However, subsequent Terminator movies have failed to recapture the success of the original, with Terminator: Dark Fate unfortunately bombing in 2019.

Since then, the Terminator franchise’s creator James Cameron has begun working on Terminator 7, which will focus more on the A.I. of Skynet than the machines themselves. Oddly, despite Terminator: Genysis and Terminator: Dark Fate each underperforming, both would introduce a key idea that could be exactly what the Terminator franchise needs to reinvigorate itself. In short, Terminator 7 could truly look at the world through the eyes of the Terminators themselves, which has not really been done in any of the Terminator movies.

Concerning why The Mummy 4 has not happened yet, there are a few reasons. For one, The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor were not as well-received as the first movie. Both received harsher reviews and were made on higher budgets, meaning their middling box office hauls saw the film franchise stall somewhat. After The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor received a 13% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $400 million worldwide against a $145 million budget, Universal Pictures decided to reboot the Mummy franchise.

In 2017, The Mummy was released, a reboot starring Tom Cruise that was set to kickstart Universal’s so-called Dark Universe franchise. The Mummy was just as big a critical and commercial failure as Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, essentially ending the franchise and explaining the lack of The Mummy 4. Similarly, the hiatus in Brendan Fraser’s career brought about by physical injuries and mental health problems stemming from his sexual assault allegation against Philip Berk saw The Mummy 4 become an unlikely prospect.
