In new promotions, ex-BMW designer Chris Bangle praises Xiaomi's SU7.
Chris Bangle, a former design director at BMW, has been instrumental in the transition from smart devices to cars for Xiaomi, a Chinese smartphone maker. Bangle's influence on the brand was significant, with some sources stating that he had a lasting impact on the brand. In 2009, Bangle left the company and joined Chris Bangle Associates design studio and consultancy firm, where he has been tasked with examining Xiaomi's all-electric sedan, the SU7. Bangle praises the design, calling it balanced and impressed by the interior. He also admires the car's design, as it aligns with Xiaomi's future direction. The SU7 is also powerful, with two motors that can reach 62 mph in just 2.78 seconds and a 101 kWh battery capable of up to 497 miles per charge. Bangle believes this is a good start for the smartphone brand.
Video: Blower Jr. is sent by Bentley to Switzerland to retrieve a Christmas tree.
The Bentley Blower Jnr is a collaboration between The Little Car Company and Bentley's Heritage Collection, inspired by Team Car No. 2. Crafted by hand to exceptional quality standards, the car is designed with beautiful details inspired by the original Blower. To gain confidence in the design, The Little Car Company will undertake a durability programme exceeding 5,000 miles across three different continents. The program began with the collection of a Christmas tree from Switzerland for the joint Christmas party.
The 85 percent scale recreation of 1929 4½-litre Supercharged Bentley will undergo extensive testing, including seatbelts ensuring road legality for the EU L7e Type Approval. The Bentley Blower Jnr is built around a 48V electric powertrain with a 15 kW motor, meaning a top speed of 45 mph / 72 km/h in the UK and EU (25 mph / 40 km/h in the USA due to legislation). It has an expected range of around 65 miles, with tandem seating for two adults.
Crafted entirely by hand, the Bentley Blower Jnr consists of over 700 parts, including an authentic specification chassis with leaf springs and scaled-down period-correct friction dampers. Brembo brakes at the front and drums at the rear provide stopping power, while the electric motor is mounted across the rear axle.
There are now five experimental Bentley Blower Jnrs undertaking activities globally for durability and retailer activations, with a special homage Bentley Blower Jnr in the making. Bentley and The Little Car Company wish all media friends a Merry Christmas and a relaxing break, looking forward to seeing the first production Bentley Blower Jnr in 2024.
