While standard personalization segments customers into targeted audiences, hyper-personalization can create content specific to individual customer geographies, search terms, and behavioral data to provide relevant information at the right touchpoints.

Done well, personalization can lead to a 10 percent lift in revenue for banks, according to Boston Consulting Group. McKinsey found that it can also decrease acquisition by 50 percent, and increase marketing efficiencies by 10 to 30 percent.
