February 2 in London, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge traveled to Twickenham Stadium to meet players from the men's and women's rugby teams preparing for the Six Nations Cup.
The Six Nations Cup is an annual international rugby 15 competition, which is held among the six strongest teams in Europe: England, Ireland, Italy, Wales, France and Scotland.

After being greeted by England captains Courtney Lowes and Sarah Hunter, Katherine spoke to a group of English players as they prepare for the Women's World Cup in New Zealand scheduled for the fall. Players included Abby Doe, Poppy Cleal and Shauna Brown.

“I have never seen a stadium so quiet, it's amazing. Do you often play here? How was training during the pandemic?” asked Katherine. “It must be great to be back and look forward to the upcoming season so much. At what age did you all start playing?" Several players told her how they started at the age of five and six and played against each other for many years.

“Do you think this sport is becoming popular in schools?” the Duchess asked. Doe said, "Definitely, and I think you've seen him in the curriculum."

Katherine then went on to describe how George plays rugby and netball with the girls and boys at her school, adding: “Now there is a movement towards co-ed sports so girls play not only netball but also other games like rugby and this is cool".

Speaking of her children's passion for rugby, she said: "They all love it, Louis is a kamikaze, we worry that when he gets older, he will be in the center of everything."

When the women's team presented her with the England junior jerseys for George, Charlotte and Louis, Her Royal Highness said: “I am very proud to be here. I have a lot to learn, I look at different players and tactics."

After that, the Duchess of Cambridge joined the men's team and head coach Eddie Jones. Her Royal Highness asked how the pandemic has affected the sport and how they prepared for their first game against Scotland in Murrayfield, Edinburgh on Saturday: “How was training? Have you isolated yourself together? It's very funny".

🤍 Today marks 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne following the death of her father, King George VI.
Her Majesty was proclaimed Queen of Great Britain and the Commonwealth in the early hours of 6 February 1952.
The young Queen learned of the news while standing in for the ailing King on an official Commonwealth visit to Kenya.
In an instant, she ceased to be Princess Elizabeth and became Queen Elizabeth II.
After her accession to the throne, a ceremonial body called the Accession Council met at St. James's Palace. The Council officially proclaimed accession.

However, at the moment of death, a new monarch takes over the throne, hence the phrase: "The King is dead, long live the Queen!".
“Therefore, we… We hereby, with one voice and with the consent of tongue and heart, publish and proclaim that the High and Powerful Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary is now… Queen Elizabeth II.”

The Princess of Wales attended the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall today, wearing a sophisticated and somber ensemble.

Catherine wore a custom black version of catherinewalkerlondon’s Evie Coat, featuring a military style with diagonal pintuck detailing across the chest.

Her hat is the philiptreacy Large Downturn Hat in custom black.

For jewellery, she wore a new brooch by bentley_skinner - the Art Deco Diamond Set Brooch (£14,500), “featuring geometric shapes and fine openwork platinum set throughout with lively diamonds. This piece was made in around 1920 and captures the glamour and elegance of the Jazz Age.” (Thanks to ufonomore for the ID)

Attached to the brooch she wore three poppies, believed to be in honour of her great grandmother’s three brothers who were killed in action.

Catherine wore Diana’s South Sea Pearl and Diamond Earrings, which are detachable and feature a double curve of various cuts of diamonds, with a cluster of marquise-cut stones in the centre, from which hangs a pearl. Catherine wears the diamond part with a different pair of pearl earrings to the ones Diana wore.

She carried her mulberryengland Bayswater black suede clutch again today and wore some black gloves, likely by cornelia_james.
