So the writing is done. And we’re in layout. As we amp up and get everything ready for the Kickstarter we wanted to share with you all how it’s going! Keep in mind that this is a total work in progress and subject to change. But I gives you, a page, to wet the appetite!

Work is continuing on the edit and layout of the Tribes in the Dark draft. I'll talk with the ineffable Juan Ochoa this weekend about the possibility of new art. Finally, unrelated to anything official, I've been working on a landing page for a game I want to start (likely after the holidays).

Long, long time no post. Anybody who was following on Twitter or even rivetgeek (Wil) on Mastodon knows that we've been hard at work getting this thing done.

The draft of the core book has been completed for some time, and is currently with the ineffable Postworldgames Jim Pinto for some editing. We are going to be working with Dream Pod 9 to set up the crowdfunding. Finally, I am preparing to pull the trigger on updated Roll20 sheets (and may even start putting together sheets for Role).

Things are moving along!

Tribes in the Dark - Playtest PDFs Updated August 2022!

The Tribes in the Dark team have just updated the Quickstart and Player Kit pdfs to v1.2 on the DriveThruRPG page. The new files are available in the downloads with the text "UpdatedAugust2022" at the end of their names. We grabbed the front cover and page 1 to make a graphic below along with page 2 that has a changes log (with rules fixes and other updates) for you all to checkout. The updated Quickstart pdf has been reflowed and its table of contents has hyperlinks added. The playbooks have been cleaned up, updated with rules changes, and made more printer friendly.

New Character Sheet for Tribes in the Dark on Roll20!
To make online playtesting of the new Tribe 8 - Tribes in the Dark RPG Beta a bit easier. There is now a Tribes in the Dark Roll20 character sheet to use with the virtual tabletop website. The new character sheet provides players a way to easily record characters, the cell, and factions with allows players to quickly generate ability rolls.
The character sheet is accessible for everyone on Roll20 and can easily be added from the game settings on a roll20 campaign. Just search for "Tribes in the Dark" under the Character Sheet Template and give it a try. We've attached a few images of the Tribes in the Dark Character Sheet and the Roll20 website with this post. And here is a link to the Roll20 website for all interested in creating a free account and checking it out.

Each tribe has their access to this power by way of their tribal eminences.

In being banished most Tribals believe that the fallen have lost this most blessed gift.

That however, is not the truth. What does it mean when your power, your magic exists despite Fatimal will?

The crimes of the Fallen are as varied as they can be. Sometimes the reasons are real and other times they are not.

Why would the Fatima’s allow one of their own to be falsly accused? What purpose could that even serve?

When you make your characters think deeply about why you were exiled. It really helps shape your perspective

For the Fallen that could mean destiny, it could also mean nothing. But even that’s believing in something, isn’t it.

Tribes in the Dark is a roleplaying game set in Dream Pod 9’s Tribe 8 universe, a post-apocalyptic future with PCs who are marked by destiny.
Conflict, and intrigue, are ever-present as these Fallen stand against numerous forces such as the Fatimas (Avatars of the Goddess), their former tribes, the Z’Bri (Alien monsters who once enslaved humanity), themselves, and more.
