My wife and I are both white. Recently, as our extended family gathered in the delivery room, excitement filled the air as we awaited the arrival of our baby. But when the baby was born, everything took a shocking turn.
The first words out of my wifeโs mouth were ones Iโll never forget.
โTHIS ISNโT MY BABY! THIS ISNโT MY BABY!!โ
I was stunned, my mind struggling to process what she was saying.
The nurse, trying to calm her down, replied gently, โThis is definitely your baby; sheโs still attached to you.โ But my wife, with a mix of panic and disbelief, cried out, โITโS NOT POSSIBLE, IโVE NEVER SLEPT WITH A BLACK MAN! IT CANโT BE MINE!โ
I stood there in silence, feeling as though the ground had disappeared beneath me.
Our family, sensing the tension, slowly started to leave the room, one by one. I couldnโt take it anymore. Just as I was about to storm out, my wifeโs words stopped me, and I looked at the baby. ๐
