This guy, and some even more unhinged warmongers in Israel (Yoav Gallant et al), along with their American counterparts (John Bolton, Lindsey Graham, etc), have coveted war with Iran for decades.
Two weeks ago, Israel struck the Iranian consulate in Damascus (a direct violation of the Vienna Convention), killing 2 Iranian generals & several others. Iran announced it would respond, then launched a drone/missile strike on Israel, for which it gave ample warning. Almost all of the strikes were intercepted and minimal damage was done. Iran then declared the matter over. Clearly, they wanted to draw a line in the sand, demonstrate their capacity, & preserve their reputation in the region, but not escalate. A strike meant to exact maximal damage would have been conducted very differently.
However, the Iranian strike was categorized as an unprovoked attack, for which Israel would retaliate. Contrary to the take of many Biden defenders, he is not “reigning Bibi in”. He has basically handed the controls over to him, with s bit of meaningless concern thrown in. A broader war in the region would almost certainly draw the US in. Once that starts, there is no telling where it would go. And if escalations there don’t suffice, all they would need would be a direct strike on the US or its interests. How it happened would be academic. The media would provoke sufficient public outrage & hysteria to hand the most violent warmongers here control of the narrative. In a world already on the brink in several regions, as we face cascading impacts of climate collapse, “catastrophe” doesn’t describe what we’re facing.
The stakes could not be higher, and pyromaniacs are running the fire department. These people are insane, seem hell-bent on some messianic mission to escalate to God knows what end, and much of our government is basically giving them whatever cover they want, to the horror of the entire world.
We are not powerless. Call your representatives, demand deescalation

This is the heart of it. Palestinians have been successfully dehumanized. Ask people if they think a Palestinian baby is on the same level of humanity as an American, Israeli or other baby. Among some mindsets, you won’t like the answer. #Dehumanization of an entire population is necessary to enable atrocities in pursuit of certain agendas. I’ve seen it done firsthand over the last few decades. It can be turned on and off, and they’re getting better at it. And if you think it will only be done to some “distant” people like Arabs or Muslims (i.e., your neighbors), think again. It can, will be, and IS being done to anyone, including people “like you” (i.e., everyone). #Gaza
