Seth Rollins says CM Punk left WWE and its fans 10 years ago and he doesn’t deserve to be back

He says Punk wasn’t in the trenches while they were winning the war because he folded and took his little ball and went home instead when things got hard

Punk says just like Stone Cold Steve Austin he didn’t take his ball and go home he left because he wanted something better for the company

He says he loved his job but he just hated his boss and the fans wouldn’t stop chanting his name for 10 years so he knew he had to come back to the place he loves

Rollins some people have legitimate reasons for leaving like his Wife Becky Lynch, who’s raising a child right now, but Punk wouldn’t have any idea what that’s like…OH!

Punk says he had to leave because he was a true general and a pioneer and there are plenty of people who were jealous and wanted to see him done for good, but he gathered himself and made his return when the time was right

Rollins says Punk tried to run away to AEW and he failed and now he’s going to make sure he sends him home once and for all next week on RAW’s Netflix debut

Tonight's WWE Live Event in Chicago featured a Steel Cage Match in the main event between Gunther and CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, marking their first-ever clash.

Gunther retained his Title with the help of Dominik Mysterio, who interfered and slammed the cage door in Punk's head. Gunther escaped the cage to win the match.

Chaos erupted after the match as Dominik, joined by Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Carlito, attacked Punk. The hometown hero was rescued by Rey Mysterio, Otis, and LA Knight, who turned the tide and energized the crowd.

Highlights included Rey’s crowd-pleasing 619 on all four heels and Punk’s GTS. Otis and LA Knight added humor with synchronized "worm" moves.

The event concluded with Punk, Rey, Otis, and LA Knight celebrating together to a roaring Chicago audience.

Tony Khan reportedly believes airing the CM Punk-Jack Perry altercation was crucial for AEW's TV renewal. Dave Meltzer explained, “I have discussed this with him. You have no idea how much... it’s always the same thing that he believes that that was a key to getting that deal. In every discussion, there is not even a thought in his mind that he made a mistake there.”

Meltzer added, “If it helped making the deal, then he’s right.” However, he voiced concerns about the long-term impact, stating, “I... didn’t think long term it was the right thing, even though, yes, it did help make Jack Perry a star. I just didn’t think it was positive for the company in the big picture.”
