Gratitude Post 🙏🏾Thank you to everyone who came out to the Day 1 Pictures brunch! Your love and unwavering support over the years mean more than words can express. We've had our ups and downs, but it’s because of this incredible community that we've been able to weather every storm. It was a blast bringing everyone together over great food, drinks, and, of course, plenty of laughs (y’all know how much I love comedy 😂). The energy, the vibes, the love – it’s all a reminder of why we do what we do. To many more moments like this, full of connection, joy, and shared experiences. The Mayor has unlawfully declared an "emergency" without any justifiable reason in order to try to suspend Local Law 42 to continue solitary confinement in NYC jails.

New York Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement came out to demand the Mayor and DOC fully and effectively implement the law to finally end solitary confinement in NYC.

Yesterday, as we gathered at Foley Square, we raised our voices in unity, mourning the eight lives tragically lost at Rikers Island this year - a grim testament to the pressing need for substantial reform in our prison systems.

Today, we find ourselves at the anniversary of the Attica Prison uprising that occurred on September 9, 1971, a day that shook the nation and brought the spotlight onto the rampant injustices within our criminal justice system.

As we share glimpses from yesterday's powerful rally, let us also remember the brave souls who stood up against cruelty and inhumanity 52 years ago. Their spirit, echoing through time, fuels our present fight, urging us not to rest until justice is served and every individual is accorded the respect and dignity they deserve.

Let's forge ahead, united in purpose, honoring the lives lost both past and present, and fervently working towards a future where such tragedies are a chapter of the past.

Today, we remember and honor the brave souls who stood up against inhumanity and injustice during the on September 9, 1971.

Let their spirit of resistance reverberate through us, reminding us of the continuous battle for justice and human dignity.

The deplorable loss of life at Rikers Island stands as a stark testament to the systemic issues that still plague our society. Yesterday, advocates united, raised their voices, and vowed to continue fighting for a world free of oppression and injustice.

In the last 3 1/2 years I’ve taken over 25k pictures.

Some of these images blend right into another in my mind, but every now and then there’s that one image that reminds me of how far I’ve come.

Eternally grateful, for everyone who took a chance on me and trusted me with capturing their image or important moments.

I still have to sharpen the business side of my work, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come with the craft.

Hey everyone!

I had the honor of covering the ACT UP! program, and I have to say, it was a truly inspiring experience.

ACT UP! is a program under the Harlem Film House / Harlem MetaVerse that consistently proves its value by providing a solid ecosystem that connects writers, actors, producers, and investors. Not only that, but it also gives stage to stories from the culture that might otherwise go untold.

This month's feature, James, cast his critically acclaimed play from our community, and countless others have done the same. It's amazing to see the power of community and collaboration in action.

I'm thrilled to announce that ACT UP! is now in residency at the Epicenter of Culture, the iconic Schomberg Center. If you're looking for something to do the last Monday of every month, come join us and see why this program is worth supporting.
