This film is so personal. I was so scared to share it with the world but ultimately had to remind myself that the intention behind creating it was far bigger than me. The comments I received about how the film affected you have touched my heart in more ways than I can express. Truly a beautiful first experience all around. But definitely not the last!!!

My Hair, My Rules, focuses on men of color’s emotional connection to their hair, an often unspoken/taboo topic in our society. It explores my and other men of color's relationship with hair care and hair loss, documenting nearly every detail of my journey getting a hair transplant - the last attempt at saving the curls that took so long for me to embrace.

“We often feel like we are going through things alone until there is someone who speaks about it.” The ultimate goal of this film is to create a space for these vulnerable conversations.
