This little Salt Wells Creek c**t is about to wake his friend….it’s time to play!!

These are only two of the horses that will lose their freedom if the BLM has its way when they plan on zeroing out the checkerboard HMA which includes Salt Wells, Wyoming.

Hopefully they get a band of their own.

Muskogee and Ringer(pinto) hang around the outskirts of the herd waiting to steal themselves a mare or two. Muskogee has lost his mares several times and Ringer’s stepdad finally banished him from his natal band. I hope that these two stallions get their own band soon.

No one lunges like this beautiful bay roan stallion. He’s always looking for a fight. Keep your eye on him, he finishes fighting with the gray and picks a fight with another stallion shortly after. Always interesting at the Onaqui desert.

This is about the story!

These two had been sparring for sometime. I sat down to just enjoy these young palominos when all of a sudden one was knocked flat on the ground. I was terrified, he didn’t move…I didn’t know what to do. Then one of the big stallions came over to him and kept nudging him and young one finally got up and slowly walked off. After we thought about it, we wondered if he got his breath knocked out of him. Have you ever seen that before??

Look out for a “left hook”!

Well that was a slap in the face with his left front hoof. Playtime at the Onaqui watering hole can occasionally get a little rough. They were both find and left grazing side by side.

South herd frustration.

Eclipse (black) was trying to mate with one of the few mares in this herd (edited) and it started a big disruption amongst the stallions. After the last roundup, this herd was left with only 6 or 8 mares. Very frustrating!!

Don’t get pushy.
The bigger black roan pushes his opponent backwards….that’s called pushing your weight around. Just a few seconds and they each walked off in different directions.
