🌐 Social Media Does Not Predict Offline Conversation (Part 2) 🗣️
Democrats are slightly more likely than Republicans to use every form of electronic communication, from voice phone calls (18% of their consumer conversations) to text messaging (8%), video calls (5%), email (3%) and social media (3%).
Those face-to-face conversations about brands are especially valuable because they tend to be more positive than conversations that occur via other modes of communication. Face-to-face conversations have an average net sentiment of +52, with little difference among Republicans and Democrats. At the other end of the spectrum, the net sentiment in social media is just +36 across all categories and brands measured in TotalSocial.
