Once I was riding in a New York subway, I sat next to a pretty girl. She was editing her pictures in Facetune app. The ride was long and I saw her heavily edit her face and body and save 30-40 versions of her pictures. At the end of my ride, she was still displeased looking at those pictures.

Let’s say you have all the time and resources to attain that perfect factuned version of you, what would you do? I am not here to tell you what to do or what not to do. It’s okay to want to look physically good, look picture perfect on the social media but please don’t use these things thinking you need to fix some aspects of you and only then you will be happy, loved, appreciated.

This world tries to sell you things you don’t need, to fix problems you don’t have. They inject the problem in your head and you give it the power to become real in life. Example: TikTok beauty trends, buccal fat removal, Snapchat dysphoria etc.
We live in a superficial world, where your looks speak before you. We want to look dammm good. It’s okay to use external things. Makeup is a beautiful art, use it with love for yourself not to hide yourself. And know you are still beautiful without it. Don’t develop an unhealthy codependency towards it. Use social media filters with fun, but don’t frown looking at your face without a filter. Stop whitewashing. Stop wishing you had that filter’s nose. Lip fillers, botox, plastic surgery need serious discretion and medical guidance. It is not to be done just because people are doing it. Please do proper research before you let a needle touch you.

Do what you need to feel confident, do it with due diligence. Do it with self-love. Do it with wisdom.

The point is you need to develop a self-loving relationship with yourself, until then nothing will be enough. This is a life long process. You will always be looking for the next thing, jumping from one to another, running in a race you can’t win.

Study yourself well, acknowledge your shadows, learn to say no, know where to stop. You are more than enough.

Fall 🍁🍂🍃 with love 💌

Here are some stories behind each picture:

1: This is my fav fall picture of me. I was on a walk in Queens, New York wearing my fall coat and I saw this beautiful tree 🌴 .
2: After my class in Cornell tech at Roosevelt island, I took a selfie with red tree that matched with my outfit.
3: Your teaching assistant for 3 healthcare + informatics courses this fall 🍁
4: When I see a dry pile of leaves 🍂 , I stomp it to hear the crispy sound of dried leaves. It makes me happy.
5: Supreme crossaint in pumpkin 🎃 flavor, yes please. I gained a few pounds, you know that’s normal when you are in love.
6, 7: Late night pizza 🍕 at Washington square park, I go here for the nyu vibe
8: Tea time 🫖 with siblings after dashain celebration. Rose tea is my most fav tea and brown sugar boba cake is always ordered when I’m here. We had a sugar rush after this.
9: A quick getaway from city to Long Beach for a day, me time 💆‍♀️
10: My brother got me a madam president sweater as a gift 🎁 suits me well
11: Went to nuts factory to get my fav Dubai chocolate 🍫 , it was also in 2 new flavors, I chose the fall themed one. The little kid in me is happiest here.
12: Reading this brought me positive energy ✨. I am a big believer of speaking things into existence.
13: My raw face 👩🏻 after removing makeup. My skin was super dry and I got a facial. This picture to compare before and after. I never thought I’d post a pic without wearing a moisturizer but here we are.

1. My conscience is clear: My clarity leads me. I trust my mind and inner wisdom to decide what’s right for me. My integrity is intact and it always leads me to success.
2. My confidence is solid: I know who I am and what I believe in. I listen to my inner child’s voice. I can stand on my grounds in any circumstance. I validate people and things and not the other way around.
3. My faith is unwavering: Everything works out for me no matter how it looks at any point in time. I do not falter at any moment of difficulty. I am at peace because I know I have my back and so does the universe.
