Happy Monday y’all! First day back at the gym in over 8 months 😫 I’m still recovering from my neck surgery and still in pain from my torn labrum but I’m taking it easy and going light.
It’s sad to think of all the progress I made and lost but I’ll get there and hit my goals one step at a time.

To all the “I learned how to beat match on vinyl and I only use turntables because controllers or cdj’s aren’t really dj’ing. Anyone not using turntables is a fake dj and should be excommunicated from the dj industry to never be heard from again. And SYNC button? Don’t get me started on the SYNC button. Anyone who even brings a finger close enough to it should have their finger chopped off IMMEDIATELY!”

Get with the fkn program! It’s so cringe at this point. Like, I’m so glad you learned how to beat match and mix with records. Congratulations to you! Why don’t you go watch black and white T.V. Like they used to or better yet go watch Charlie Chaplin still movies. That should make you feel good, right?

How dare modern dj’s use new technology to get
more creative in their sets and save time by not having to beat match the oringinal “OG” way and btw I very rarely use SYNC but honestly, who cares if a dj does use it?! You know who doesn’t give a 💩 if a dj uses SYNC or using a controller etc?? You guessed it… the actual people the dj is playing for! The crowd the dj is creating a vibe on the dancefloor for. The people dancing their butts off all day and night for. Nope. They don’t give one flying fk what hardware you’re using or if you’re pressing the sync button or not!

So please hop off that mighty horse of yours. It’s not a good look for you even though your “vinyl only” goupie dj’s will praise you for all of time 😂

This music scene has and always will be about the MUSIC and the feeling the music brings to the CROWD. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So take that amazing hunk of metal and put it in a nice glass display case where it belongs!! Or at least don’t knock other dj’s who don’t use vinyl or have updated to using digital hardware or controllers and even ones that use the sync button. Nobody cares!!

The saying goes… “The comeback will be greater than the set back” and I am intent on proving those words to be true (again)

Today will be my first day back at the gym in over 15 weeks! I’m finally feeling good enough after spinal surgery to go back even though it’s only for 20-25 minutes on the treadmill for now.

My shoulder is still in extreme pain but I will push thru it as I do everything else in my life. I should be getting my shoulder surgery sometime in February and with some hard work and luck I should be back in the gym and finally weight training sometime in May or June. I still have a long road ahead of me and it will be disheartening at times to have to start my training from scratch again but I am determined to get back on track and finally reach my health and physical goals.

So… I invite anyone who wants to get healthy and/or in shape to join me on this journey. It definitely won’t be easy and it won’t be painless but in the end it will all be worth it!

I finally got the midi translator and Traktor mapping installed thanks to my boy Vito Scalogna who came thru to put me on to this!! I have to learn all the mapping buttons and functions but will probably try to make some minor custom adjustments to make it a little more familiar for me. (Any help is appreciated 😉 )

Aside from not being able to see the wav’s on my screen or platters (hopefully they map that one day soon) and a few other minor things, I am very happy with the combination of pioneer hardware and Traktor software. I only had a few minutes to play around but I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with this new setup and start streaming and recording sets again!!

I will make my final decision to either keep or return the XZ very soon but now with the ability to use Traktor, I am leaning toward keeping it. The build quality of the XZ is something I’ve been wishing I could get out of Native Instruments gear for quite some time but unfortunately, they never really stepped up their game in that regard.
