My father told me to take cold showers, always saying, "You smell horrible, go take a cold shower and use the soap I gave you." And I did like five times a day — it was driving me mad. My mom stayed silent, which was strange since we were usually close.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND PARENTS WHO LET THEIR KIDS "EXPRESS THEMSELVES" HOWEVER THEY WANT.

I'm honestly shocked by what my daughter allowed my granddaughter to do to herself. Bright yellow hair, piercings all over, and even tattoos! It looks awful. I can't even bring her to church with me anymore — what would people think?

I don't understand this new generation of parenting where kids can just do whatever they want to "express themselves." Is it just me, or are we losing a sense of decency here?

Alice had always shared a special bond with her grandfather Bill, unlike her brothers, who seemed more interested in his wealth. So, when she found out she had inherited only an old barn, while her brothers, Jake and Ashton, received his house, she was taken aback. Her brothers laughed openly at her misfortune.

Later, when Alice fell on hard times, she hoped her brothers might lend a hand. "Do you think I could stay at Grandpa’s house for a while?" she asked.

Ashton shrugged, "Sure, if you’re willing to pay rent."

I decided it was time for a change, so to get rid of all the negativity in my life, I cut off my hair and got a pixie cut. Honestly, I really like it. It makes me feel refreshed and empowered. But when my husband saw it, he was less than thrilled. He told me I looked "awful, like a man," and even told me to wear a wig until my hair grew back.

I TOOK OUR OLD COUCH TO THE DUMP, BUT MY HUSBAND FREAKED OUT, YELLING, "YOU THREW AWAY THE PLAN?!"

I'd been asking my husband, Tom, for months to take our battered old couch to the dump. It was practically falling apart, but every time I brought it up, he'd say, "Tomorrow," or "Next weekend, I promise." Spoiler: "tomorrow" never came.

That Saturday, I'd finally had enough. I rented a truck, loaded that sagging, smelly couch by myself, and hauled it to the dump. I felt proud, even ordered a new couch to be delivered that afternoon.

When Tom got home and saw the new couch, he went pale. His first words weren't thanks, though. He looked at me, panicked. "You took the old couch to the dump?"

I nodded, confused. "Yes, Tom. You've been saying you'd do it for ages."

MY MIL INSISTED ON BEING PRESENT FOR MY HOME BIRTH, BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT, SHE SLIPPED OUT OF THE ROOM, AND I HEARD STRANGE VOICES OUTSIDE.

When my husband and I decided on a home birth, my mother-in-law was all over the idea. She insisted that she had to be there, saying she wanted to "help" and "support us" through everything. I figured it would be nice to have her around, so I agreed.

But I went into labor began, I noticed something strange. She kept slipping in and out of the room, glancing over her shoulder as if she had somewhere else to be. I brushed it off at first, focusing on the pain and the rhythm of my breathing. Then, during a break between contractions, I heard it — muffled voices, LOTS of voices.

Confused, I asked my husband to check it out. He nodded and stepped out of the room, but when he returned, his face was pale and his eyes wide with disbelief.

MY COLLEAGUES ALWAYS MADE ME SPLIT THE BILLS EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T EAT THAT MUCH, SO I GAVE THEM WHAT THEY WERE ASKING FOR.

So, I just started with a new team, and every Friday, they went out for lunch. My colleagues earned way more than me, while I was new, with a lower salary and loans to pay off.

The problem? They always insisted on splitting the bill equally. I ordered small, $15-$20 veggie meals, while two coworkers constantly went for $60 meat platters. Still, I was paying much more than I could afford.

Me: Hey, could we do separate bills? Or at least, let me just pay for my order?
Colleague 1 (laughing): Separate bills? STOP BEING SO CHEAP.
Colleague 2 (smirking): Yeah, it's not like we're breaking the bank. Just split it.

My 14-year-old son, Ben, came home one evening looking upset. He had spent the last month washing our neighbor Mr. Peterson's black Jeep. Mr. Peterson, a businessman known for his fancy cars, had promised Ben $50 per wash — a big deal for a 14-year-old.

"What's wrong?" I asked.
"He didn't pay me," Ben mumbled, dropping onto the couch.
"What do you mean? Didn't he agree to pay $50 each time?"
Ben sighed. "Yeah, but today, after I finished the fourth wash, he said it wasn't 'spotless' and that I wouldn't get paid. He said I should have done a better job if I wanted my money."

Anger boiled inside me. Mr. Peterson had always acted superior, but this was low.
"You washed it every week, right?"
Ben nodded. "Yeah, and spent hours on it."

"How much does he owe you?"
"$200." I handed Ben $200 from my wallet.
"Here. You earned it. But don't worry, I'm not done with him."

The next morning, I saw Mr. Peterson polishing his Jeep and took my revenge.

MY GRANDPA LEFT ME AN OLD FARM - I WAS GOING TO SELL IT UNTIL I SAW A WALL

My grandpa recently died, leaving me his old farm. I was totally not into it and wanted to sell it as soon as possible—like, TO ANYBODY.

When I arrived, I saw the state it was in and the critical shortage of workers. Running it and doing everything myself wasn’t the plan, but I got up every morning and worked like crazy with the land and cattle, seeing what was ACTUALLY going on here. That’s when questions started popping into my head...

MY NEIGHBORS THREW THEIR ROTTEN HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS IN MY YARD SO I WOULD TAKE THEM AWAY

The morning after Halloween, I left for work and was hit by a nasty smell. Rounding the corner, I found a pile of rotting pumpkins, dried-out cornstalks, and broken skeletons scattered across my lawn. Figured it had to be some prank… until I saw a note taped to one of the pumpkins:

"Figured you’d want the rest of the neighborhood's decorations too. Enjoy cleaning it up, since you love decorating so much."

I knew that handwriting: my neighbor Brenda. My blood boiled.

I marched over and knocked. Her husband Gary opened the door, smirk barely hidden.

“Any reason your junk is all over my yard?” I asked, barely containing myself.

Gary shrugged. “Well, since you’re the last one with decorations up, figured you could handle ours, too. Think of it as a ‘favor’ for the neighborhood.”

I fumed all day, dreading the cleanup. But then, a few days later, my phone rang. It was Brenda, practically shrieking.

I WAS SO EXCITED TO RENOVATE OUR NEW HOUSE UNTIL I FOUND AN EXTRA ROOM — WHAT WAS INSIDE MADE US MOVE OUT.

My husband and I had been saving money since our wedding to buy our own place. I could hardly believe our dream had come true when we finally got the keys. We started the renovations right away. I was in charge of fixing up the place while my husband was busy at work.

One morning, the crew called me over to show me a strange door they found behind one of the walls. I was excited about the possibility of some extra space that the realtor didn't know about. But when I cracked the door open, my heart dropped into my stomach.
